Timeform View

A big-field handicap and a case can be made for several, but GIVEHERTILXMAS has been in fine form at Roscommon and gets the vote to open her account under Colin Keane. Blues Emperor is on a dangerous mark and can back up his latest effort, with Moyassr taken to see out the places. Naoi and Phoenix Pairc are others to consider.

Timeform Comments

Blues Emperor (IRE)
Fourteen runs since last win in 2025 which came over this C&D. 20/1, step back in right direction when third of 18 in handicap at Cork (1m, soft) 12 days ago. Is very well handicapped at present.
Naoi (IRE)
Surpassed his 2025 form for P. Twomey when making a winning return in 14-runner handicap at Leopardstown over 7f last month. Possibly found race coming too soon when in mid-field at the Curragh just 9 days later. Stable in good form and she makes the shortlist.
Comfort Line (IRE)
Consistent veteran who overcame trouble in running to win at the Curragh last month. Creditable fifth of 18 in handicap at Cork (1m, soft) 12 days ago.
Dandymaria (IRE)
Made the frame twice from 4 starts in maidens, producing a best effort when sixth of 18 at Navan 16 days ago. Market best guide now sent handicapping.
Loingseoir (IRE)
Won this 2 years ago and has generally had a solid season. Towards the head of the betting but got going only too late when down the field at Galway 13 days ago. Drops back down to last winning mark though wide draw doesn't help.
Thru And Thru (IRE)
Has failed to go on from a very good reappearance third at Naas, finishing down the field at the Curragh on latest outing in June. Probably best watched on return.
Moyassr (IRE)
Won 3 times this season, latest over 1¼m at this course in May. Runner-up last 2 starts, beaten a nose by Verhoyen in handicap (11/4) at Laytown (6f) 11 days ago. Should go well again.
Rappell (IRE)
Course winner who opened his account for the year at Limerick (6.5f) in July. Quickly back on track when third at Laytown 11 days ago, meeting trouble on the rail. Blinkers go back on.
Venetian Star (IRE)
Still a maiden and ran his best race when reeled in late in Limerick (7f) handicap in June. The blinkers are refitted and he needs to bounce back from a below-par effort at Cork last time.
La La Lucrative (IRE)
Back to his best this season, winning handicaps at Listowel and Roscommon. Another good run when ½-length fourth of 13 to Faoladh at Galway (7f, good) in August. Has to enter calculations.
Phoenix Pairc (IRE)
Took advantage of a drop in grade when winning 14-runner handicap at Roscommon (7.4f, good to soft) 3 weeks ago by head from Givehertilxmas. Yard having good spell and merits consideration.
Banshof (IRE)
Showed some promise on first 2 starts in maidens but well held both outings since. Hard to make a case for.
Covert Legend
Thirteen runs since last win in 2024. Hadn't gone on since a promising reappearance. Goes without tongue strap on first start since leaving Maurice Ahern and market best guide.
Givehertilxmas (IRE)
Made an encouraging return with a couple of placed finishes at Roscommon, latest when head second to Phoenix Pairc 3 weeks ago. Cheekpieces quickly discarded but she's one to take very seriously in bid to finally open her account.
Mr Perth (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden who shaped very well on handicap debut at Galway in July. Failed to back that up at Gowran and may be seen to better effect granted more of a stamina test.
Treasured Royal (IRE)
Made a promising start to the year when third at Naas in May but hasn't gone since. Significantly up in trip with the hood back on. Others more persuasive.
Prince Andorra (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden. Ran to a modest level on debut and hasn't even matched that form in 3 starts since.
Orphanina (IRE)
No better than mid-field in 3 maidens. Back down markedly in trip on handicap debut and is hard to fancy.
Elly Bay (IRE)
Ran some good races for Johnny Murtagh last season and her standout effort this campaign came with a second-placed finish in a C&D handicap back in May. Has been given some further help by the assessor. RESERVE.
Simmering Seas (IRE)
In frame last 4 starts, latest when fourth of 18 in handicap at Navan (5f, good) 16 days ago. Significantly up in trip and the tongue strap goes back on. RESERVE.
Dervo Annie (IRE)
Course winner back in June and built on that at the second attempt when runner-up over C&D the following month. Not in the same form since but has been given some help by the handicapper. RESERVE.
