The addition of Colin Keane could be the catalyst for VERVAIN to double her career tally. The dangers are headed by 3-y-o pair Connecteo and Connova. In-form pair Deluca Chop and Bhean Saibhre are also respected, while My Vonnie is one to consider at bigger prices in a competitive big-field handicap.

Wild Berries (IRE)
Speedily-bred sort who showed fair form as a juvenile. Had been given some help from the handicapper but still caused a surprise when successful on first try over 1¼m here 7 days ago. Needs more again to follow up over further still, though she is already outstaying her pedigree.
Vervain (IRE)
Produced best effort to date when second in a better race at Gowran in August. Still in good form when 5¾ lengths fourth of 13 at Down Royal last time, unable to sustain a big move under her usual 7-lb apprentice. The booking of Colin Keane may well see her get off the mark for current yard.
Sonny Corleone (IRE)
Lightly-raced 3-y-o who finished fourth in pair of 1¼m maidens (including here). Hasn't kicked on in a couple of handicaps, though, and only ran to a modest level sent hurdling at Listowel 5 days ago.
Chopsticks (IRE)
Runner-up to one landing a gamble in this corresponding event 12 months ago. Form has regressed for John McConnell this year, however, that's reflected in his mark. Not discounted if switch back to previous stable sparks a revival, for all he's drawn wider than ideal.
Connecteo (IRE)
Improved when runner-up at Roscommon on handicap debut in May. Best effort since when ½-length second at Down Royal last time, responding well to first-time cheekpieces/an attacking ride. Could be dangerous if able to get to the lead from stall 14.
Deluca Chop (FR)
Course winner who secured back-to-back successes at Navan/Down Royal in June. Again ran well when 4 lengths third of 22 in this grade at Navan last time and should give a good account back on the all-weather (yard also saddles Chopsticks).
Bhean Saibhre (IRE)
Hit the frame on her previous 4 Flat starts, latterly beaten 3½ lengths in a higher grade at Gowran in April. Arrives on the back of a career-best success over hurdles at Kilbeggan (19f) and looks potentially interesting on all-weather bow.
Chapel Island (IRE)
Relatively lightly-raced 3-y-o. Hit the frame both previous starts in this grade. Shaped as if still in good form when slowly away/denied a clear run over longer trip at Navan (1¾m) last time. Ought to at least be competitive if translating his form to the all-weather.
Macinamillion (IRE)
Fairly useful chase winner for Gavin Cromwell last summer. Only beaten one rival home in a couple of starts for current yard following an absence, for all he may have still needed the run at Navan (1¾m) latest. Makes all-weather bow here.
Zitkala Sa (IRE)
Hasn't gone on since her handicap debut third at Gowran in June, faring no better for the addition of more severe headgear at Clonmel (1¼m, good) 9 days ago.
My Vonnie (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who'd look well treated if recapturing last winter's course form. Still operating below her best when 9¼ lengths fifth here (10.5f) latest. The second/third have won since, though, and she does benefit from a handy draw this time.
Chant D'or (IRE)
Low-mileage 4-y-o hasn't improved for the switch to handicaps. Hard to be confident back up in trip on all-weather debut.
Connova (IRE)
Lightly-raced 3-y-o filly who has made a positive start in handicaps. Shaped as if well worth a go over this trip when 2¾-length second to an improver in a big-field Navan handicap (1¼m) latest. Still relatively unexposed and makes appeal on first all-weather outing.
Highway Sixty One (IRE)
Long-standing maiden. Finished 4 lengths third in a similar event here on stable debut in May. Now 5 lb lower following a patchy run of form on turf.
Folk Warrior (IRE)
Maiden in both codes. Ran creditably when beaten 8 lengths in this grade on return to the Flat at Navan (1¾m) latest. Type to benefit from first-time cheekpieces. RESERVE
Ms Messi (IRE)
Third behind Vervain on reappearance at Gowran. Not in same form at Navan subsequently, though potentially well treated off 3 lb lower all-weather mark here. RESERVE
Aiteall (IRE)
€400,000 son of Wootton Bassett. Fared no better on all-weather bow here (10.5f) last time. Cheekpieces added for step back up in trip and foolish to totally discount given his pedigree/connections. RESERVE
