Developed into a smart hurdler, finishing first past the post in a competitive handicap at Aintree (disqualified due to rider going over the permitted level of strikes) before being collared late in Swinton Hurdle at Haydock. Far from disgraced in Galway Hurdle since and must be respected here.
Helvic Dream (IRE)
One-time very smart Flat performer who was hard done by when demoted from first in Galway Hurdle last season. Back somewhere near that form when sixth in same race this season but his overall profile is off-putting.
Paul's Dream (IRE)
Progressive sort who bagged her third of the season when landing 8-runner minor event hurdle (9/2) at Galway (2¾m, soft) 18 days ago, soon clear. This is tougher but she looks sure to go well again.
Gameball (IRE)
Bumper winner for A. Slattery last summer and followed up in Punchestown maiden hurdle on debut for current yard last autumn. Upped his game in handicaps more recently, including when good third in Galway Hurdle (2m, good to soft, 14/1) 57 days ago and must enter calculations here.
Ragmans Corner (IRE)
Progressive handicapper who made a winning return at Killarney in May before good fourth in Galway Hurdle. Arrives on back of victory on Flat and is likely to make his presence felt here.
Starting Fifteen
Landed a Limerick maiden hurdle before falling short at Grade 1 level on next 2 starts. Wasn't seen to best effect on handicap debut at Galway latest but his mark leaves him requiring improvement.
Autumn Twist (IRE)
Took form up a notch when second in handicap hurdle at Bellewstown in July and built on that when winning Killarney handicap last month. This is tougher but he remains feasibly treated.
Venusienne (FR)
Lightly-raced mare who posted a career best when winning 20-runner handicap hurdle at Galway (2m, good to soft) 58 days ago. Raised 11 lb since but likely has more to offer yet.
Run For Mahler (IRE)
Posted career best when landing handicap over longer trip at Killarney in July. Not troubled the judge on Flat since, though, and drop back to 2m not sure to suit here.
Path D'oroux (FR)
Hasn't won since the autumn of 2024 and finished well held in Galway handicap last month. Respectable effort on Flat since but makes limited appeal back in this sphere.
Thisistheway (IRE)
Consistent mare who took a step forward when good second of 20 in Galway Hurdle (2m, good to soft) in July. Not disgraced on Flat since and could be a player here.
Fiver Friday (IRE)
Followed up impressive Flat success with victory in 10-runner mares handicap hurdle at Bellewstown in April. Below par at same course latest, however, and others appeal more.
Cosmos D'ainay (FR)
Impressed when opening his hurdles account at the third time of asking at Cork in July and made the most of a good opportunity when following up at Perth earlier this month. Faced a stiff task when third over C&D 2 days ago and must enter calculations on handicap debut.
Malbay Madness (IRE)
Smooth-travelling type who has won 3 of his last 4 starts, latest when taking 5-runner minor event hurdle at Downpatrick (2¼m, good, 2/1) 47 days ago, kept up to work. This is tougher but he can't be ruled out.
Sign From Above (IRE)
Ran respectably over hurdles in the spring but hasn't really threatened on the Flat since and others are more convincing. Blinkers on first time over jumps.
Wholelotofbusiness (IRE)
Off the mark at Killarney this time last year but been a mixed bag since, merely respectable eighth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Galway last time. Well treated if back to his best.
Speed For Fun (FR)
Fairly useful Flat winner who would have made a successful hurdling debut but for final flight fall at this course in May. Not really built on that but is worth checking in the market on handicap debut.
