Most of these arrive with a question mark against them so it could pay to side with BRANDENBURG who had the worst of the draw when well held in a York nursery on his debut for Ann Duffield and had won twice prior to that. The First Drop is weighted to go well if a switch to nursery company sparks a resurgence and is next on the list ahead of Redcar scorer Rock Steady Beat.

Timeform Comments

Sir Sirius (IRE)
Fair form in a trio of novices in early summer. Off 11 weeks (gelded) before coming in tenth of 15 on nursery bow at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Plenty more is needed in first-time cheekpieces.
Brandenburg
Winner of 5f Beverley maiden in May (for Stephen Hanlon) and 6f Hamilton novice in July (for Noel Wilson). Had worst of draw when twelfth of 18 in nursery at York (6f, good) last month for another new yard. Well worth another chance.
Rock Steady Beat (IRE)
Bounced back from 2 poor efforts when getting off the mark in 7-runner seller at Redcar (6f, good to firm) 15 days ago. Not out of things now going handicapping.
Deputy Vice (IRE)
Mehmas gelding made a promising debut when third in 6f novice at Chester in May. Has failed to build on it in 4 subsequent starts, however, including on nursery debut when sixth of 13 at Ayr (6f, soft) 12 days ago.
The First Drop
Shaped well on his debut when a clear second in 7f Carlisle maiden in June. Well below that form both runs since though, gelded before coming in fifth of 13 in novice at Ripon (1m, good to firm) last month. Cheekpieces are now reached for on handicap debut.
Sovereigns High (IRE)
Best effort when third in 6f Chester maiden in August. Has failed to build on it in nursery company since, sixth of 11 back at Chester (7f, heavy) 11 days ago.
Beauty For Love (IRE)
Fair form in a trio of runs over 6f this summer. Came in last of 7 in nursery at Carlisle (5f, good to firm) last month however so bounce back is needed in a first-time hood.
Inns And Out (IRE)
Landed maiden over C&D in August. Backed that up when third in 7f Beverley nursery but failed to beat a rival in another nursery at Ayr (6f, soft) 12 days ago.
