STAY HOPEFUL produced his best effort to date despite doing too much too soon in a first-time visor when third at Worcester in July and likely has more to offer for his new yard, with the booking of the Champion Jockey Sean Bowen also signalling intent. Uncle Al should be suited by a return to Hexham, while Valette also merits respect now going chasing.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Lights Are Green traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 25% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Valette traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Super Citizen
Held his form well after opening his account for the season at Carlisle (3¼m) in November, but he's his yard's first runner in 6 months, so fitness could be an issue (well held on last autumn's comeback run).
Valette (IRE)
Left her previous efforts behind in a first-time tongue strap when second in 11-runner handicap hurdle at this course (23f, good to soft) in May, giving her all. Warrants respect on this switch to chasing from a 3 lb higher mark given she's unexposed as a stayer.
Deadheat (FR)
Veteran who has been very lightly raced in recent seasons and made his first impact for a while fitted with headgear when third at Kilbeggan (3¼m, good to soft) 6 weeks ago. 5 lb higher on return to British soil but still enters the reckoning.
Lights Are Green (IRE)
Unreliable type but produced one of his better efforts when fourth of 10 in handicap chase at Cartmel (25f, good) in July, looking in control briefly after kicking on home turn but headed final 100 yds. Not sure to be in the same form.
Uncle Al (IRE)
Prone to jumping errors but avoided mistakes when taking advantage of his reduced mark in 4-runner contest at Huntingdon (3m) in May and returned to a similar level when second of 5 at Sedgefield (3¼m)18 days ago. Strikes as the type to be suited by this track and merits consideration.
Ballydangan (IRE)
Is now operating from a 4 lb lower than when winning last year's renewal but has shaped with little recent encouragement, backing out of things concerningly quickly at Perth on most recent outing.
Croagh Patrick (IRE)
Veteran who proved he retains ability on second start for this yard when runner-up over C&D in June but has run poorly all 3 starts since.
Stay Hopeful (IRE)
Irish point winner who produced his best effort to date under Rules when third of 8 in handicap chase at Worcester (23f, good) in July, despite doing too much too soon in a first-time visor. Subsequently sold out of Henry Oliver's yard for £8,500 and looks interesting with Sean Bowen booked.
