Timeform View

This is wide open. TEX has gained both his victories here (first over C&D) and scored in good style in amateur company last time out so is fancied to defy a 6 lb weights rise with Simon Walker a significant booking. Recent Ffos Las winner Kaleidoscope Eyes heads the list of dangers under a 5-lb penalty, although Rock Opera is weighted to go well and represents last year's successful connections. Norcross Brow is another who can play a prominent role in his bid for a fourth win of 2026.

Timeform Comments

Zabeel Alkabeir (IRE)
Doubled his tally with 7f win at Southwell last October. Resumed with encouraging fifth at Kempton (1m) in July on final run for James Tate. Raced too freely (got no cover) when a respectable fourth of 6 in handicap at Sandown (7f, good to soft) 3 weeks ago. Could still do better for new yard.
Zoulu Chief
A fair 6f winner in 2025. Mainly below par this season, only ninth of 12 in handicap here (5f, good to firm) 27 days ago. Takes a big step up in trip now.
Dannick
Took a while to get off the mark but doubled his tally at Lingfield (1m) in August. Backed it up with a good second of 11 to Tex in handicap here (1m, good) 4 weeks ago. Up 6 lb here though.
Kimeko Glory
Ended a losing run at Salisbury (1m) in August. Has posted good-placed efforts in handicaps at Goodwood (9f) and Sandown (1m) since. Must enter calculations nudged up 1 lb.
Son
Sole win came at Newbury (6.5f) in June 2023. Running consistently well this summer though, second of 9 in handicap at Ayr (7f, heavy) 13 days ago. Ought to be thereabouts again.
Tex (FR)
Opened his account over C&D in July and comfortably doubled his tally in amateurs' handicap here (1m, good) 4 weeks ago by ¾ length from Dannick. Up 6 lb but a player with Simon Walker now up.
Lequinto (IRE)
Landed eighth win at Windsor (6f) in June. In good form since until only seventh of 9 in handicap there (6f, good to soft) last time. The sort to bounce back.
Documenting
Now firmly into the veteran stage but gained a 13th career success in 12-runner handicap at Doncaster (7f, firm) in August. This C&D scorer can't be ruled out despite 3 lb rise.
Bold Impact (IRE)
Doubled his tally at Windsor (1m) in July. Back on track with third of 14 in handicap at Newmarket (9f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Possibilities.
Chirimiri
Fair ex-French 7f/1m winner for Xavier Blanchet. Last of 10 in minor event at Deauville (9.5f) sole run for M. Delzangles in August but no surprise to see him bounce back for new yard. Wears tongue strap.
Norcross Brow
Free-going type who is much improved for Charlie Clover this season, winning for the third time at Haydock (7f) in August. Posted another good effort when third of 9 in handicap at Epsom (7f, good) 22 days ago. Can make his presence felt once more with Henry Callan up.
Signcastle City (IRE)
Scored at Chelmsford (7f) in February and has recorded plenty of solid efforts since, not enjoying a smooth passage when fourth of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) 8 days ago. Should go well again.
Tolstoy (IRE)
Quirky sort who ended a long losing sequence (in refitted hood) in 13-runner classified event at Doncaster (1m, good to firm) 3 weeks ago. Not out of things with headgear retained.
Rock Opera
Back to winning ways at Pontefract (6f) in June but below that level on his last 4 starts, just tenth of 12 in 6f handicap at Southwell latest. Now only 1 lb above his last winning mark so needs considering for last year's winning connections.
Who Wants Me (IRE)
Finally off the mark at Carlisle (7f) and followed up with a ready success at Ayr (5f) later in summer. Not disgraced when thirteenth of 20 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm) last time given she was left poorly placed. Considered.
Thapa Vc (IRE)
Registered 7f handicap wins at Doncaster and Yarmouth (7f) in July. Below par in 3 runs since however so bounce back is needed in a change of headgear.
The Bitter Moose (IRE)
A fair 7f winner in 2025. Yet to add to it this season but largely running well, including when an unlucky-in-running sixth of 12 in handicap at Leicester (6f, good to firm) 11 days ago. Well in the mix.
Kaleidoscope Eyes (IRE)
Proved better than ever as she doubled her tally for the year in 10-runner handicap at Ffos Las (1m, heavy) 5 days ago. Not taken lightly under a 5-lb penalty.
