Timeform View

ASHEYRA improved on her debut form despite still looking green when second in a small-field Ascot novice 4 weeks ago and almost certainly remaining capable of better, Roger Varian's filly makes plenty of appeal in her bid to make it third time lucky. High Threshold is an appealing newcomer from the Archie Watson stable and commands a second look, with Princeland expected to step forward from his Pontefract debut effort.

Timeform Comments

Aughavannon (IRE)
Inns of Court gelding who has run to only a poor level in 2 starts to date. Low-grade nurseries promise to be more his bag after this.
Big Tribe (IRE)
Foaled April 18. 220,000 gns yearling, Sioux Nation colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including 2-y-o 6f winner Nandita and winner up to 9.4f Pockett Rockett. Dam 2-y-o 7f winner. Yard has yet to strike with a 2-y-o newcomer this season but he commands a close look in the betting nevertheless.
Espresso Breeze
Caturra colt who was held back by inexperience but showed a bit by the end when seventh of 13 in a maiden at Beverley (5f) 16 days ago, plenty to do 1f out but keeping on final 100 yds. Likely improver with the step up to 6f fully expected to suit.
Five Star George (IRE)
Sent off at long odds and well held in pair of maiden/novice events at up to 7f to date.
High Threshold (IRE)
Foaled February 14. 150,000 gns foal, 260,000 gns yearling, Mehmas colt. Dam unraced half-sister to useful 2-y-o 1m winner Sea Prose. Appeals on paper for stable who is 6-30 with 2-y-o newcomers this season at time of writing. Possibilities.
Hunstanton
Cost 6 figures at the breeze-ups but he isn't bred for sprinting and finished well held when ninth of 11 in a Southwell novice (6f) on debut 8 days ago. In excellent hands but passed over for the time being
Knightbolt (IRE)
165,000 gns yearling, Kodiac colt. 12/1, shaped as if needing the run when fourth of 11 in a maiden at Thirsk (6f) 7 weeks ago. May need more time on that evidence.
Princeland (IRE)
320,000 gns yearling, Havana Grey colt. Ran to only a modest level when fourth of 5 in a Pontefract novice (6f) on debut 7 weeks ago. Hood quickly reached for and surprise were he not capable of better given stable he represents.
Spruce
Advertise half-brother to 5f winner Dothan. Dam, sprint maiden, closely related to smart 5f winner Dutch Masterpiece. Green and always behind in maiden at Salisbury for Martyn Meade in June. Absent/gelded since and rates best watched.
Val De Grey
Foaled February 3. 110,000 gns yearling, 130,000 gns 2-y-o, Havana Grey colt. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner. Likely best watched on debut unless betting vibes suggest otherwise.
Asheyra (IRE)
Dark Angel filly who was still green with a hood added but improved nevertheless when second of 4 in a class 2 Ascot maiden (6f) 4 weeks ago. A stronger pace would have helped then and she sets a good standard here with potential for better still.
Magnanimous Grecia (IRE)
Magna Grecia filly. Offered little at long odds when last of 13 in a Carlisle novice (6f, good to soft) 23 days ago.
Mollisha (IRE)
Produced a promising debut effort when third in a C&D novice and whilst she failed to justify support when fourth at Chester (6f, heavy) next time, the contrasting conditions offered some mitigation. Worthy of another chance back on all-weather.
