QUIET SUMMER is the one open to progress and that may prove the decisive factor up against more exposed rivals that can all have a case made for them on their best form, though it may be that Last Verse proves the selection's biggest danger having taken well to all-weather recently.

Timeform Comments

Nolton Cross (IRE)
Goes well at this track and far from disgraced when fifth of 10 at Southwell 10 days ago. Made all to defy 4 lb higher mark at this track in February and could go well if reverting to those tactics in this small field.
Model Yuko
Not kicked on this year having continued to race freely, though was likely out of depth in listed company last time. Now returns to the scene of her win faced with more realistic company so could fare better, but longer trip poses questions.
Elsass (IRE)
Creditable third of 11 in handicap over this trip on all-weather at Kempton 27 days ago and, though he flopped on turf next time, his record on this surface demands respect and he could well bounce back (all-weather form figures 1213).
Last Verse (IRE)
Won easily on all-weather debut over 13f at Lingfield in August and then bumped into a thriving rival when second of 4 over 1¾m at this track 25 days ago. Should have no problem dropping back to this trip and can go well again.
Quiet Summer (GER)
By far the least exposed of these and showed fairly useful from last 2 starts, including when third of 4 over 1¼m at Newcastle 29 days ago. Now tackles handicaps back up in trip and is in the right hands to win races so needs taking seriously.
