Timeform View

A few of these bring potential but Willie Mullins has a fine record in this and his VICAR STREET is fancied to take another step forward and follow up his commanding Galway victory (form worked out well) after a break. Frankie John rates a good prospect too though, and seems sure to go close, while the likeable Shadow Paddy shouldn't be underestimated either in his bid to go 4-4 in this sphere.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Kilbarry Saint could be expected to race prominently. Of those in the front half of the betting forecast, Frankie John might be well positioned in a slowly run affair: Of the better-fancied horses, Shadow Paddy is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Shadow Paddy (IRE)
Prolific over hurdles last season, winning 4 times, and has taken his form to another level over fences this season, going 3-3 in Grade 3 event at Galway (2¼m, good to soft) in July. This likeable type returns from a break with more to offer.
Bowensonfire (FR)
Smart winning 2m hurdler. Made a promising start over fences when second at Galway in July. Below that level when third of 5 in beginners chase at Killarney (17f, good) following month but remains likely to do better.
D Art D Art (FR)
Developed into a useful staying handicap hurdler during 2024/25 and having been out of sorts last season proved revitalised for the switch to fences with a narrow success in 23f beginners chase at Wexford in May. Not out of things after a break.
Frankie John (IRE)
Very useful hurdler who posted an excellent fourth in Grade 1 Sefton Hurdle at Aintree (3m) in April. Made a pleasing start over fences with success in maiden at Galway (2¼m, good to soft) in July. Open to progress, especially back over further.
Vicar Street (IRE)
Lightly-raced winning hurdler. Built on chasing debut promise with emphatic success in 9-runner novice at Galway (23f, good to soft) in July. That form has worked out well, and he's a big player for yard with excellent record in this.
Kilbarry Saint (FR)
Gained a belated first win over fences in maiden at Clonmel (2½m) in March and backed it up with solid placed efforts at Fairyhouse and Punchestown following month. Has gone well fresh so needs considering after a layoff.
