EVALUATION certainly comes with risks attached, but he looked to be crying out for this longer trip when running well in stronger events last year, so he's awarded the vote. Course specialist Heart Above has to be high on the shortlist, while Ballynoe Boy is likely to be of interest if taking up this engagement.

Timeform Comments

Klitschko
Strong traveller who can promise more than he delivers. Capitalised on a reduced mark in good fashion at Sedgefield (17f) in March, winning the race for the second consecutive year. Handicapper taken no chances with an 8 lb rise and returns over a trip that seems to have stretched him previously.
Evaluation
Useful on the Flat for Lucinda Russell in 2024. Crying out for this step up in trip over hurdles when hitting the frame in a trio of 2m handicaps last season. Tricky to assess back hurdling (well beaten at long odds both Flat starts since joining a capable yard) but could be worth a chance.
Do No Wrong (IRE)
Fairly useful type. Has a second and 2 wins from his last 3 hurdle starts, again capitalising on a lower mark in smooth style at Newcastle in October (3m). Still 2 lb below his chase mark and did make a winning seasonal reappearance last year.
Bold Light (IRE)
Isn't the force he was when landing an emphatic C&D success in Class 2 handicap in March 2025 (his latest win). Has given a chance by the handicapper, though, dropped another 2 lb for his 9¼-length fifth in a slightly better race for the grade at Perth latest.
Heart Above
Needed every yard of the trip to capitalise on a drop in grade in C&D hurdle in May. No show twice at Cartmel subsequently and was given a considerate return from 9-week break here last time. Excellent track record (3 wins and 5 places from 13 starts) and yard won previous 2 renewals of this race.
Ballynoe Boy (IRE)
In good hands and has got his act together over hurdles in recent starts, following up Market Rasen success in decisive fashion at Bangor (2½m) last time. That form has been well advertised and he's likely to be of interest if lining up. Engaged 3.23 Hexham Friday.
Kool Raoul (FR)
Underlined a positive start over hurdles when runner-up in a 2½m Hexham maiden last November. Didn't go on as expected in handicaps and now 7 lb lower than his opening mark as a result. Considered for yard who've fired in a couple of reappearance winners of late. Engaged 3.23 Hexham Friday.
Dalileo (IRE)
Perth regular who won back-to-back 3m handicaps there in July. Didn't beat a rival on either start over the same C&D last month, though, and his record here isn't anything special.
Starlyte (IRE)
Staying type whose latest success came in Go North Final over C&D (soft) in March 2025. Ran a typical race on first start for 4 months here last time, outpaced/plugged on (beaten 12¾ lengths), again shaping as though ready for a step back up in trip. Conditions probably quicker than ideal, too.
Interchangeable
Remains with sole win from 15 starts. Hasn't built on the promise of his third over 2¼m here in April. Seemingly no excuses at Cartmel (17f) last time, either, and he has something to prove from well out of the weights following 11 weeks away.
