Timeform View

An expensive purchase out of Irish bumpers prior to last season, GOVERNORS ROCK may well be good enough to make a successful start over hurdles. Fairly useful Flat recruit Analogical stands out as the danger, while any support for point winner Shah is likely to be telling.

Timeform Comments

Dontcontradictme (IRE)
Showed ability on the first of 2 bumper starts. Lame on hurdling debut in August 2025 and offered little on return at Newton Abbot (2¾m) latest. Probably one for handicaps now.
Governors Rock (IRE)
Beat a subsequent bumper/maiden hurdle winner when successful in pair of bumpers for Mark Fahey. Changed hands for £100,000 and disappointing (albeit highly tried) in listed/Grade 2 bumpers for new connections last season. Still a very interesting hurdling debutant in the context of a thin race.
Scopic
Well beaten all 5 starts to date, latterly from out of the weights in first-time hood/tongue tie on handicap debut at Sedgefield.
Shah (FR)
€12,500 3-y-o, £55,000 5-y-o, Walzertakt gelding. Half-brother to French 1¼m-1½m winner Coco Caline. Dam 1¼m winner in France. Easy winner third start in Irish points (May 2026). One of the more interesting types in here, especially if supported.
Analogical
Fairly useful winning stayer for Sir Mark Prescott. The clear pick of those with Flat form and certainly looks the type to make a hurdler. Likely to run a big race on hurdling debut for a good yard.
Rose Warrior
Modest maiden on Flat. Hasn't achieved anything in a couple of novice runs and is probably a handicap project.
Troy Story
Fair on the Flat for Alan King/Eve Johnson Houghton. Left previous connections for just 5,000 gns prior to finishing down the field on hurdling debut/return. Entitled to still need this.
Venezuelan (IRE)
Fairly useful 1½m winner for Ralph Beckett in 2025. Form went wrong way for current yard this year and may be one for the longer-term now hurdling.
Lara K (IRE)
Flat-bred mare who is again turned out quickly, having shown little on either start to date.
Mighty Dink
At long odds when well held both maiden starts. Another quick turnaround suggests she's a handicap project for top connections.
