Timeform View

ITSAWORKINMANIAM is given another chance to build on an eye-catching handicap debut, and he may well get off the mark in first-time cheekpieces. Las Brisas Boy and Gypsy Poet both hold solid claims, while Magic Hands Noel and Vision De Maine are potential improvers, the latter particularly interesting if supported.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Whiskey Serenade traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: The Monkey Pole traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 25% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Itsaworkinmaniam (IRE)
Remote second on standout effort in maidens last season. Caught the eye under considerate handling when fifth at Roscommon on handicap debut/reappearance. Wasn't helped by a wide trip when disappointing at Kilbeggan (25f) subsequently. Well worth another chance with cheekpieces now added.
The Monkey Pole (IRE)
Relatively lightly-raced maiden. Has shaped better than the bare result on his last 3 handicap starts, front-running exertions again taking their toll when 7¾ lengths fifth of 15 at Navan (21f). Longer trip a question mark and likely to face competition for the lead.
Vision De Maine (FR)
Irish point winner/fair 3m chaser who regressed for David Pipe last season. Since joined a very shrewd operation and is on a much-reduced mark for his first hurdle start in 2½ years (rated 15 lb higher over fences in his pomp). Needs a close look in the market.
Tango Theatre (IRE)
Veteran mare who was a dominant, all-the-way winner at Sligo in 2025. Never looked like repeating the feat in this year's corresponding race and she may well set this up for the closers if adopting her customary tactics.
Final Decision
Bumper winner for Anthony McCann back in 2023. Has stood little racing in recent seasons. Now steps up markedly in trip (Flat bred) having finished well beaten both starts over 2m for present yard.
Ancient Myth (IRE)
Standout effort over hurdles when beaten 6 lengths at Ballinrobe (2¾m) in first-time blinkers in August, still some way below his fairly useful form on the Flat. Subsequently disappointed (easy to back) at Roscommon (2½m) and stamina to prove now tackling 3m.
Las Brisas Boy (IRE)
Runner-up in back-to-back handicaps at Sligo/Wexford on last 2 hurdle starts. Reverts to hurdling on the back of a forgivable first try over fences at Ballinrobe (23f) latest, and he's one of the more interesting types.
Whiskey Serenade
Hasn't gone on since a promising second at stable debut at Bellewstown in July (2½m). Now off 1 lb lower mark having finished well-held sixth of 16 on return to that track last time. Pedigree at least offers some hope that she'll stay this longer trip.
Chanceitlucky (IRE)
Low-mileage 7-y-o. Showed up fairly well before absence seemed to tell on reappearance last month. Tighter in the betting with tongue strap refitted but went backwards from that effort at Ballinrobe 2 weeks on. Headgear now removed.
Everystep Oftheway (IRE)
Made the frame on 3 consecutive handicap hurdles in summer 2024. Entitled to have needed his return from 25-month absence at Ballinrobe (23f, good) in August. Notable that stable jockey prefers him to Head For Home.
Fervida (IRE)
Maiden who hit the frame for the first time when beaten 21½ lengths in a Tramore maiden (21f) latest. Her jumping hasn't improved with experience, though, and she looks to have plenty on at the weights back in handicap.
Head For Home (IRE)
Recorded his second in-frame handicap finish (despite carrying head awkwardly) when fourth at Cork (3m, good to soft) in May. Added to a patchy record at Limerick (2¾m, soft) later that month. Fairly treated on the pick of his form on return from 5 months away.
Drumadeise (IRE)
Lightly-raced 5-y-o. Up in trip/cheekpieces added when showing first form at Listowel (2¾m, good to soft, 40/1) 9 days ago, keeping on to finish 2½-length second of 17. Should stay this far if she settles (keen last time) and still relatively unexposed.
Tawny Lea (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden. Didn't build on the promise of her Ballinrobe fifth (good) when well-held seventh of 19 at Galway (2¾m, soft). Possibly worth another chance back under less testing conditions, with step up to 3m likely to suit.
Magic Hands Noel (IRE)
Took a step forward (despite being easy to back) when 7 lengths sixth of 16 on handicap debut/return at Navan (19f). Potential for better again over this markedly longer trip and needs considering in a field of largely exposed rivals.
Gypsy Poet (IRE)
Low-mileage 5-y-o. Shaped with more encouragement than previously this season when 14½ lengths fourth in a big-field Galway handicap (2¾m, soft), every chance he'd have finished second granted a clearer passage. Form has been franked and one to be interested back up in trip.
Comeonarchie (IRE)
Won a heavy-ground handicap at Punchestown in December. Again struggled from marks in the 90s subsequently. Returns from 7 months away and he could be one for more testing ground later in the season. RESERVE
King Of Westeros (IRE)
Runner-up only start in points. Brought along steadily prior to running no sort of race on handicap debut at Tramore (2½m, 11/1) in April. Now tackles 3m in first-time tongue strap and has to be respected given who trains him. RESERVE
Ersudaly
Off the mark at fifth attempt in points. Didn't get competitive in 7 starts under Rules for Colin Bowe. Needs a market check on the back of a significant trainer change, though. RESERVE
