Timeform View

CLADACH has been progressing with consecutive runner-up efforts and would have gone very close at Gowran 16 days ago had a clear run appeared sooner. He's up 6 lb but can go one better in first-time cheekpieces. Closely is well bred and makes her handicap debut from a lowly mark, while Sherekiya has gradually been getting the hang of things, and deserves another chance following a disappointing run last time.

Cladach has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP 3 times on its last 5 starts: Ocean Echo traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Star Strewn (IRE)
Struggled for consistency with previous trainer but won an 18-runner handicap at Cork (40/1) 26 days ago on stable debut, proving herself at the trip under a positive ride. Faces a stiffer task up 5 lb and needs to show she can back that up.
Cladach (IRE)
Progressing with back-to-back runner-up efforts, most recently at Gowran (15/8f) 16 days ago when he would have gone very close had a clear run appeared sooner. First-time cheekpieces and up 6 lb but holds leading claims.
Down The Glen (IRE)
Third of 18 in a Galway handicap (17/2) in July, forced wide throughout, but followed that good run with a below par one when seventh of 14 (7/1) there 27 days ago when racing freely. Others preferred.
Suir Monad (IRE)
Fourth of 14 in a handicap at Galway 27 days ago and third of 10 in a maiden at Gowran (11/2) 16 days ago. Yet to run a bad race and can be competitive.
Closely (IRE)
Well-bred filly who has disappointed in maidens, seventh of 13 at Naas (12/1) in May when she failed to come on for her return. Yard don't have many starting in handicaps from this sort of mark.
Sherekiya (IRE)
Had gradually been getting the hang of things when third of 13 at the Curragh (11/1) in August, improving for the step back up to 1m, but wasn't as strong in the finish last time when eighth of 18 at Cork (5/1). From a quality Aga Khan family and could be worth another chance.
Holy Lettuce (IRE)
Made debut over C&D in July, finishing fifth of 9, and took a step forward the next twice. Failed to improve on handicap debut when seventh of 18 at Cork (18/1) 26 days ago, though didn't get an entirely clear passage.
Ocean Echo (IRE)
Failed to improve since making the frame in a couple of 7f maidens in May/June, including in handicaps (tried tongue tied latest).
Roaming Coyote (IRE)
Well backed on handicap debut at Gowran in June, finishing second of 14, leaving previous efforts behind. Bounced back to form when third of 14 in a similar event there (10/1) 16 days ago, having been gelded and given a break. Will be fresher than most and should be competitive again.
Pattyandselma (IRE)
Yet to threaten in 3 maidens, most recently ninth of 17 at Curragh (300/1) 9 days ago. Looks the type to do better in handicaps now.
Spinola Bear (IRE)
Down the field in maidens. Makes handicap debut stepped up to 1m, but shown little to recommend.
Strikepoint (IRE)
Failed to improve for switch to handicaps when well held at the Curragh (28/1) 37 days ago. Step up in trip could suit.
