Timeform View

SHAIHAAN is eased in grade here and with conditions likely to suit, he gets the verdict in a trappy listed event. Caught U Sleeping is a reliable filly and will benefit from the step back up in trip, so is also shortlisted alongside likely improver Latin America.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

A strongly contested lead could count against Action, who is expected to try and race close up: There is a chance of a pace burnout early, and Manton Bay is one who may benefit from being produced later.

Timeform Comments

Action (IRE)
Smart effort when second in the Dante at York in May but mainly used as a pacemaker since, often having hard races. Difficult to know how much ability/enthusiasm he retains.
Back Straight
Showed plenty in Punchestown maidens a year apart, landing the odds in a tongue strap 3 weeks ago. This much harder but he remains with potential.
Latin America (IRE)
Confirmed debut promise when landing the odds in 18-runner maiden at Navan in April. Shaped well considering the drop in trip seemed to be against him in a useful event at Naas the following month. Off since (gelded) but likely more to come over this distance.
Magnum Cor (IRE)
Sea The Stars colt who hails from a fine staying family and confirmed debut promise when winning maiden at Roscommon (1½m, good) in August. Overcome residual greenness to follow up in a 3-runner minor event at Bellewstown (12.4f, soft) 4 days ago. Fitted with cheekpieces now and can progress again.
Manton Bay (IRE)
Remains steadily progressive and got off the mark for the year at this track in August. Beaten only by a smart prospect in the Irish Cambridgeshire the following week and backed up that effort when fifth of 22 in handicap at the Curragh (1¼m, good to soft) 22 days ago, not ideally placed.
Mr Vettori (IRE)
Heavy-ground maiden winner at Gowran last autumn. Better form in defeat this season but this looks another stiffish task. Has since been gelded.
Shaihaan (IRE)
Convincing winner of Curragh maiden on reappearance and highly tried after, his best effort coming when third in the Gallinule Stakes. This looks more his level and easier going could also be a plus. Has been gelded.
Caught U Sleeping (IRE)
Found improvement when winning listed race at Naas in May and better form when making the frame in Group 2 and Group 3s since, sticking to her task over a barely adequate trip when fourth in a Group 3 at Gowran (9.5f, soft, 12/1) 16 days ago.
Alphecca (IRE)
Ended last season with back-to-back wins in a course maiden and valuable sales race at Naas. Struggled on handicap debut/Group 3 races in the spring but yard is going much better now and she resumed progress back from a break when second in this headgear in Listowel handicap 2 weeks ago.
Garden Party (IRE)
Runner-up to stablemates both starts last year and went one better in a maiden at Cork on return. However, limitations seemingly exposed in Group 3 at the Curragh last month.
Millhone (IRE)
Gained reward for a string of consistent efforts when winning 21-runner handicap (4/1) at Navan (1¼m, good) in first-time blinkers 30 days ago but will likely need to find significant improvement to make an impact in listed company.
