GROUND FORCE has contested some pretty good races ahead of this switch to handicaps, and starting out at a low level a bigger performance could be forthcoming here. The drop back to 7f is a bit of a concern for Chaise Longue after her excellent staying-on second over 1m here 3 weeks ago but she clearly won't stay a maiden on that showing, while Santo is another potential improver now entering nurseries.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Of the better-fancied horses, Santo can be expected to race prominently: Given the shortage of prominent races, Ground Force could find his likely position towards the back of the field difficult to overcome.

Santo
Has shown a bit in 6f novices, including when third at Newbury and fifth at Windsor. Half-sister to a smart sprinter and could do better now handicapping.
Ventura Power
Disappointing since his encouraging debut sixth in 6f Windsor maiden (winner took the Redcar 2-Y-O Trophy on Saturday). Has been gelded and needs to improve now handicapping over a longer trip.
Crystal Kraken
Runner-up in first 2 nurseries but has virtually refused to race in blinkers the last twice. Headgear removed up in trip but got to be treated with caution.
Ground Force
Showed quite a bit more in 7f Kempton novice last month when 400/1 and could build on that now tackling nurseries down in class. Interesting for his successful stable.
Chaise Longue
Looked a staying type across 3 qualifying runs and much improved as she went down by just a neck in 1m nursery here 3 weeks ago, staying on well. Drop back in trip is a worry but she clearly has races in her.
Marralyn (IRE)
Easy to back and poor runs in 5f Lingfield novice/6f Windsor nursery the last twice. Bred to stay well so 7f should suit but hard to get too excited about.
Roberts Legacy
Fared better than on her previous runs when fourth of 11 in maiden at Lingfield (7f, all-weather) 7 weeks ago. Could improve again now handicapping fitted with cheekpieces.
Nightspell
Kameko half-sister to 16.3f winner Rogue Empire. Little impact in 6f/7f events and may want a longer trip now handicapping.
Ava Louise
Well held in 5f/6f maidens and needs to improve now handicapping, though that's possible given her low starting base.
