POWDER MONKEY is going the right way now and can utilise his draw in stall 1 to complete the hat-trick. Alfa Whiteburd gave things a bold show from the front at Chester last time and is also respected alongside the reliable Tattie Bogle.

Timeform Comments

Alfa Whiteburd (IRE)
Completed a hat-trick at Pontefract in August and did well to make the frame after setting a strong gallop when fourth of 12 in handicap (7/1) at Chester (7f, soft) 24 days ago. Expected to be bang there.
Dublin Bay (IRE)
Improved model on all-weather/refitted with cheekpieces this year, dominant when adding to his tally at C&D in May. Ran well after 3 months off when third at Southwell (7f) in August and shaped as if still in form after breaking awkwardly when fourth of 9 at Chester 23 days ago. Drawn widest here.
Proud Nation (IRE)
€320,000 breeze-up purchase who was beaten just a short-head in a 5-runner Newmarket handicap in July. Never involved in big-field events at Goodwood and York on his last 2 outings and now has visor applied.
The Dragon King (IRE)
C&D winner who got back to form when 2 lengths second of 7 in handicap at Salisbury (7f) in June but failed to build on that when eighth of 12 in handicap at Newbury (1m, firm, 8/1) 88 days ago. Has since left Clive Cox.
Charlie's Cannon (IRE)
Overcame greenness to make a winning debut in good style in novice at Kempton (7f) in July for Ralph Beckett but never looked like justifying support when ninth of 13 in a similar race there (1m) 61 days ago. Has since changed yards again (left Simon Dow).
Grow Old With Me (IRE)
Clearly hasn't been the easiest to train since nearly landing a gamble on debut at Newmarket in November 2024. Proved he retains ability when 1¼-length third on comeback at C&D in April but bit below that level at Newcastle earlier this month. Makes handicap debut in first-time blinkers.
Reciprocated
Didn't kick on from a highly promising start as a 2-y-o and similar story following a good reappearance third at Pontefract in 2 subsequent starts for Karl Burke and no impression in 2 starts since switching yards for 58,000 gns back in July.
Chantelle
Started 2-2 in fillies novices at C&D in the winter and has proved pretty reliable since switching to handicap company, keeping on into second in a modestly-run 12-runner handicap (11/1) at Southwell (7f) 13 days ago. Can give another good account.
Tattie Bogle
Likeable and consistent sort who has upped his game this summer, winning for the third time in 2026 at Brighton last time. Typically gave his running when fourth of 9 in handicap at Beverley (7.3f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Looks competitive on form.
Powder Monkey (IRE)
Showed improved form to get off the mark in 11-runner handicap at Lingfield (7f, all-weather) in August and followed up under a good ride from Loughnane at C&D (6/5, 12 ran) 17 days ago. 4 lb rise may not be enough to stop him completing the hat-trick.
Padua (IRE)
Usually a free-going sort who turned in his best effort of the present campaign when third of 9 at C&D (7f) in August but couldn't get away with his headstrong tendencies despite the drop in trip when last of 8 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, soft, 8/1) 24 days ago.
Queue Dos
All 4 of her wins at this track, the latest in December. Mixed form this season, though wasn't disgraced in a higher grade than she need contest when fifth of 7 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, good, 40/1). Blinkers back on after 97-day break and is now below last winning mark.
