KONDRATIEV WAVE gets the vote making a return to all-weather. Ararat has the benefit of the inside stall and can do better this time, while Portman Blue can't be ruled out.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Twitch traded at a high of 6.40 and Betfair SP of 5.50 when winning last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Portman Blue
Fair maiden who drops into a 0-60 for the first time back on all-weather. First-time Cheekpieces are added. Can give a good account.
Pickering Castle
Took advantage of a reduced mark when winning at Yarmouth in August, though the form of that race hasn't worked out. Wasn't in the same form there last time, carrying head bit awkwardly. Bounce back required returned to all-weather.
Virtue Patience
Twelve runs since last win in 2025. Failed to come for a couple of encouraging earlier in the year. Off for 3 months and well held both starts last month on turf. Blinkers are now added and goes well on polytrack, though others are more persuasive at present.
Ararat (IRE)
Landed back-to-back 6f handicaps at Southwell for Robert Cowell last autumn but not really threatened in recent starts despite a sliding mark for present stable. Assessor eases his grip a little more and has an ideal draw this time. One to note, particularly if the market speaks in his favour.
Camera Shy (IRE)
Ended a losing run stretching back to his debut at Southwell (7f) in March. Has dropped below last winning mark after a couple of below-par efforts last month and the cheekpieces now go back on. Market best guide.
Fort Augustus
Scored twice at Southwell over 7f earlier in the season before finishing down the field after the second of those in June. Had a 3-month break after and proved too fresh over 6f here on return 3 weeks ago. Easy to look elsewhere.
Addictive (IRE)
Showed ability in 4 starts for George Boughey in 2024. Missed whole of last year and not threatened in 4 handicaps this year for this yard despite a sliding mark. Very hard to make a case for.
Wildfell (IRE)
One-time fairly useful performer. Offered nothing in 2 outings last year for D. J. Jeffreys and provided more of the same on yard debut at Bath last month. Blinkers are removed and tongue-tie goes back on. Had breathing operation ahead of this but he remains easy to oppose.
Kondratiev Wave (IRE)
Course winner who gained reward for his consistency when dead-heating at Lingfield (7f) in February. Has run some creditable races in defeat since, though has been a bit below form on last 2 starts both at Brighton. Claims for all he has a tricky draw to contend with.
Forever My Prince
NON RUNNER.
Twitch (NZ)
7/2, ran best race for a while when winning 8-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) 17 days ago by 2¾ lengths from Vitalline. Several of his main market rivals underperformed then and it doesn't look the most reliable form.
Ajrad
Thirteen runs since last win in 2025. Ran well when making the frame at Chepstow in August, but has followed that with 2 lesser efforts. Hold-up performer who hasn't been the easiest to predict and may need a few to falter.
Ashford Hill
Won 7f Lingfield handicap in January and back to form over that C&D when third in August. Not in same form both starts since, though with an excuse last time. Others more persuasive.
Maury (IRE)
Made a winning return on the polytrack at Lingfield (7f) in March. Made the frame next time but down the field all 5 starts since. Needs to step forward.
