Timeform View

Something of a repeat of last month's C&D contest with the first 4 on that occasion all back in opposition. Highland Harvey was second that day but is fancied to deservedly double his tally. With Bug Boy not sure to be in the same form this time, Clipsham Noble is feared most.

Timeform Comments

Bug Boy (IRE)
Had a good Brighton record down the years and he came with a storming late run to end a lengthy losing sequence over C&D last month, proving just too strong for Highland Harvey despite a typically slow start. Task is to back that up.
Basilette (IRE)
Not the most straightforward but was an emphatic winner at Bath (11.5f) in May. Also successful over hurdles during the summer and runner-up back on the Flat the last twice, clear of the rest when edged out latest.
Lunar Power (IRE)
Went close twice in small-field handicaps last summer for Donald McCain. Quiet start for new yard in 2026, though.
Stintino Sunset
Gained reward for a string of consistent efforts in 7-runner contest over similar trip to this at Bath 3 weeks ago. 4 lb rise still leaves her very competitive.
Charles Morin
Benefited from a good ride when ending his losing run in a classified event at Lingfield (1½m) but never really looked like following up back in handicap company on final start for Pat Phelan.
Highland Harvey (IRE)
Finally got off the mark in 11.5f classified event at Yarmouth in July. Good placed efforts all 6 starts since, including when runner-up to Bug Boy over C&D a month ago and can win a race like this.
Foinix
Got off the mark for the year in last-gasp fashion in a 1½m classified event on all-weather in August. Ridden differently when not in quite the same form a week later but quickly back on his game when 1¾ lengths fourth of 8 to Bug Boy in a bunched C&D handicap latest.
Clipsham Noble (IRE)
Twice a winner at Leicester this season for his new yard, latest in 6-runner handicap in July. Has held his form well since and was also involved in the busy finish over C&D won by Bug Boy.
Westender
Typically given patient approach by his yard, no better than seventh in his qualifying runs spread out over a year. Handicaps a lot more suitable and market will be informative.
Prophet Squeeze (IRE)
Quirky maiden who's been sent off at long odds on all previous starts, though she did at least run up to form when third at Wolverhampton on Friday.
