Having faced a stiff task on hurdling debut, LEXINGTON WOOD made a much bigger impact when finishing runner-up in a Perth maiden in May and fitted in a first-time hood for his return, Olly Murphy's 5-y-o can make it third time lucky. Yeld To Call went very close at Newton Abbot last month, so she heads up the dangers, while Dan Skelton saddles 3 and his German import Northern Olympian looks the most interesting on paper.

Timeform Comments

Cowboy Casanova (IRE)
Walk In The Park gelding who finished third on sole outing in points and shaped well on all 3 bumper starts earlier in the year, exceeding expectations when third of 10 at the Punchestown Festival (2m, good to soft) back in late-April. Interesting hurdling debutant.
Drumlee Orders (IRE)
Third sole start in Irish points but well beaten in a couple of starts over hurdles, though did show ability under considerate handling on latest (tongue tied). Returns from 5 months off and could be one for low-grade handicaps after this.
King Rolo
Getaway gelding. Dam (h109), 23f hurdle winner, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 2½m) Emily Moon. Respected debutant.
Lexington Wood (FR)
Placed once in 3 bumpers for Philip Fenton. Changed hands for £105,000 but never figured on yard/hurdling debut in Grade 2 at Kempton in February but made a much bigger impact when second of 13 in maiden at Perth (2m, soft) a few months later. First-time hood applied and considered on return.
Northern Olympian (GER)
Borderline useful Flat performer who completed a hat-trick in Germany in summer 2025. Has joined a top jumps yard ahead of this return so shouldn't be underestimated starting out over hurdles.
Spanish Darling (FR)
Successful twice from 4 starts in points and built on initial promise under Rules when winning 8-runner bumper over C&D (good to soft) last month. Has left Tom George since and worth a second look in the betting on hurdling debut.
Action Replay (IRE)
Behind when falling in an Irish point in February and has made a listless start under Rules in a couple of maiden hurdles here. One for later on.
One More Chrome (IRE)
Improved to make it third time lucky on Flat at Nottingham on return in June 2025. Well beaten in a couple of 1¼m handicaps later that season but has joined a top yard ahead of this return/hurdling debut. Betting should be a decent guide as to what's expected.
Pedro's Moon
Failed to meet market expectations first time up when eighth of 10 in C&D bumper in August and tailed-off last of 7 on hurdling debut at Uttoxeter (2m, good) on Sunday. Can only be watched.
Westbrooke Boy
Made a winning start in 9-runner Huntingdon bumper last November. Proved to be a disappointment at Chepstow 10 weeks later but having had a breathing operation, was back to his debut level when second of 8 at former track in April. Folly to discount on return/hurdling debut.
Drakaris (IRE)
Promising second in a Sedgefield bumper on debut. Caught the attention of the stewards when again well held at long odds at Bangor in March. Should get a mark after this run and is one to note for handicaps.
Yeld To Call (FR)
Put a low-key end to the spring behind her returning from 5 months off when second of 7 in novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (17f, good) recently, rallying when headed before the last. In the mix with a repeat.
Wet Sail
Getaway filly. Dam (c67/h112), 21f hurdle winner (stayed 3¼m), half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Golden Sunrise. Highly respected on debut.
