Cases can be made for several and at the likely prices it could pay to take a chance on THESOLDIERSMINIT, who upped his game when a close third on handicap debut in February and Sam Allwood's 5-y-o has been off since producing a lesser effort the following month. Jollie Dame looks an obvious danger for top connections now handicapping, with Calibos and I Heard A Rumour another couple worth mentioning, too.

Timeform Comments

Jollie Dame
Fair form in bumpers but well beaten in 3 mares' novice hurdles back in the spring. Makes return/handicap debut and should make more of a splash here for her top stable.
Play On Court (IRE)
Has one standout effort and never figured on handicap debut back in May. Handicapper drops him 4 lb but difficult to know what to expect on return.
Calibos
Fair 1¼m Flat winner who showed an aptitude for hurdling when fourth of 8 on stable debut at Huntingdon in early-March. Fared best of the also-rans without progressing from that initial effort at Market Rasen in May and more realistic chance now making a quick switch to handicap company.
I Heard A Rumour (IRE)
Chasing type on appearance and related to winners but no more than minor promise in trio of qualifying hurdle runs during second half of last season. Switch to handicaps in her favour on return and no surprise to see her do better for her leading yard (second string on jockey bookings).
Thesoldiersminit (IRE)
Much improved when third on handicap bow at Market Rasen back in February but let down by his hurdling when fifth of 7 at Huntingdon (2m, soft) the following month. One to consider provided he's fully tuned up back from 7 months off.
Billy Butcher (IRE)
Modest at best in bumpers but showed some ability remains returning from 23 months on the sidelines when sixth of 12 in maiden hurdle over C&D (good to soft) just under 4 weeks ago. Needs to take a step forward now handicapping.
Monark Wood (FR)
Runner-up in a claimer at Fontainebleau in November on his second and final start for David Cottin. Subsequently changed hands for €16,696 but tailed off on both starts for this yard earlier in the year. Equipment left off and big step forward needed on return/handicap debut.
Finjimk (IRE)
Little impact in a bumper/trio of maiden hurdles in Ireland and it was a similar story on yard/handicap debut at Market Rasen 11 days ago.
Famous Shoes
Signs of ability on the Flat for Karl Burke but there have been very few positives to take from his efforts in this sphere so far. Makes return and every chance he could show much more now handicapping.
Estate Planning (IRE)
Long-standing maiden. Supported to capitalise on his slipping mark when beaten 17 lengths on return at Stratford in June. Back from further 4 months off with cheekpieces refitted, headgear previously making no difference to this tricky customer.
Delta Legend (IRE)
Twice a winner on the Flat (stays 1½m) in 2024 but below form last year and no promise on all 4 starts over hurdles (had breathing operation prior to latest).
