Timeform View

THE BLUE PANTHER is taken to go one better than on stable debut. Hat-trick seeking Starflow rates the chief threat, ahead of Free Solo and Imperial Dream.

Timeform Comments

Free Solo (IRE)
Turned in his best effort of the season when runner-up off a much-reduced mark at Leopardstown in August. Underlined his inconsistency when beaten 6¾ lengths at Dundalk subsequently. Could be worth another chance dropped into a 0-60 for the first time on return to turf.
Medieval Night (IRE)
In-form maiden who typically gave his running when finishing a length third in this grade at Clonmel (1¼m) last time. Seems as effective over 1m and he's expected to be thereabouts again.
The Blue Panther (IRE)
Has popped up with handicap wins in 2024/2025 and went close to opening his account for this year in a similar event at Gowran in July. Ran well when runner-up in reapplied cheekpieces on stable debut at Bellewstown (1m, soft) latest. May go one better with tongue strap back on here.
Cisterna (IRE)
Comfortably scored in a 3-y-o handicap at Roscommon in May. Bounced back to form when runner-up in this grade at Cork before underlining his inconsistency at Listowel (7f) last time. Back up in trip here.
John La Bear (IRE)
Off the mark in a Dundalk nursery over the winter. Finished as close as he has in 3-y-o handicaps when beaten 4½ lengths at Clonmel (1¼m, good) latest. Should at least be suited by the drop back in trip on first start against his elders.
Imperial Dream (IRE)
Long losing run has seen him fall to a handy mark. Confirmed his return to form when 1½-length fourth in a similar event at Listowel (7f) latest. Potentially interesting trying 1m for the first time in a while.
Starflow (IRE)
Low-mileage 3-y-o and an improved model for the fitting of blinkers, again finding plenty for pressure when following up his Cork success at Dundalk (1m) last time. Bold bid for a hat-trick looks on the cards.
Gilts (IRE)
Lightly-raced 3-y-o who improved to make a winning handicap debut at Gowran in June (mixed messages about the strength of that form). Now steps up to 1m for the first time, having been well beaten in a couple of 7f handicap since.
Miss Ivor (IRE)
Modest 3-y-o filly who has finished well held in 4 handicap starts to date. Seemed to excel herself back in maiden company when beaten 6½ lengths at Listowel (1m, 400/1) latest, though was possibly flattered given the gallop was nothing to write home about.
Monocle Rocket (IRE)
Much improved for switch to handicap/positive tactics when second at Gowran (7f) on return/stable debut in April. Wasn't seen to best effect after another slow start over the same C&D later that month. Returns over longer trip and possibilities if getting away on terms.
Cause I Like You (IRE)
Typically found plenty for pressure when opening her account in 3-y-o handicap at Killarney (1m, good) in July. Wasted no time getting back to form when 2½ lengths second of 16 at Gowran (1m, soft). Should remain competitive off 1 lb higher.
Steppinoncats (IRE)
Half-brother to a useful one but has offered little at long odds in 3 maiden starts. Hard to be confident he'll make an immediate impact now handicapping.
Swing Street
Another who's been sent off at big prices/shown little in maidens. Does at least benefit from a lowly opening mark.
Survivor's Code (IRE)
Hasn't kicked on since opening her account at Gowran (7f, soft) in April. Now 6 lb below her winning mark, however, she went with no encouragement on second start back from a break at Listowel (7f, good to soft) latest.
La Tulipe Noire (IRE)
More miss than hit since winning back-to-back handicaps at Cork/Roscommon last autumn. Returns to handicap company on a reasonable mark, having been out of her depth in listed company at Listowel (200/1) last time. RESERVE.
Banshof (IRE)
Remains with one standout effort when eighth of 20 in a 6f Curragh maiden. Does at least benefit from an ease in grade here. RESERVE.
Mogwli (IRE)
Veteran who won a pair of 1m handicaps last season. Hasn't fired this year, though. RESERVE.
