SHIRZAN was first past the post on her Flat debut at Tramore only to be disqualified for her rider weighing in light and she can gain compensation on the back of 2 very good efforts over hurdles. Sunny South West heads the list of dangers with this step up in trip a positive, while Yogini and Teofil also warrant plenty of respect in this fascinating maiden.

Nucky Johnson (IRE)
Useful 2m hurdles scorer in 2022/23. Shaped encouragingly when third of 7 in maiden at Down Royal (1¼m) on Flat debut in May 2024 on his final run for Noel Meade. Has his fitness to prove on belated comeback run for new handler.
Sunny South West (IRE)
Bumper/hurdles winner during first half of 2025. Largely running well this season, staying on when third of 13 in novice at Listowel (1¾m, good to soft) 13 days ago. Player with this step up to 2m a plus.
Teofil (IRE)
Useful bumper performer who went 2-3 in 9-runner event at Killarney (2m, good to soft) in August, showing a good attitude. Merits consideration on Flat debut.
Shirzan (IRE)
Winner of 2m maiden hurdle at Limerick in March. First past the post but subsequently disqualified after her rider weighed in light on Flat debut at Tramore in August. Since run really well back over hurdles at Kilbeggan and Listowel. Big player back in this sphere.
Mothel Abbey (IRE)
Never dangerous in maidens at Leopardstown (9f) and Listowel (1m) this summer. Should do better in due course.
Purple Bandit (IRE)
28/1 and blinkered, encouraging debut second of 15 in maiden at Roscommon (1½m, good to soft) in August. This Toronado gelding can build on it over the longer trip.
Yogini (IRE)
Took a step forward on his handicap debut when third of 13 at Down Royal (2¼m, good) last month, finishing strongly having been caught further back than ideal. Sure to do better still.
