Timeform View

RATTLEDELATCH has looked much improved over fences, travelling strongly when runner-up at this course in August before staying on late to finish fourth at Listowel a fortnight ago. He looks the one to beat. Doctor Confusion needs to brush up his jumping but shaped as though this longer trip is worth another go last time, while recent hurdle winner Moonlight Paradise is bred to make at least as good a chaser.

Timeform Comments

Calm Flight Ahead (IRE)
Much improved when routing a 13-runner handicap at Sligo in August by 12 lengths before defying a 12 lb rise when following at Downpatrick the following month, beating a next-time-out winner by 2 lengths. Failed to complete all 3 starts in points but should make a chaser and longer trip should suit.
Doctor Confusion (FR)
Low-mileage 5-y-o that stepped up on his hurdling efforts when 11¼ lengths third of 12 to Sea Of Doubt in maiden at Downpatrick on chasing debut. The way in which he stuck to his task that day suggests the step back up in trip will suit. Should have more still to offer.
Hatfield Hammer (IRE)
Consistent but limited handicap hurdler who arrives in decent heart but didn't cut much ice on his 2 previous outings over fences and is probably one for handicaps in this sphere in any case.
Installment (IRE)
Showed modest form on standout effort over hurdles. Related to some chasers but tough to see him making an immediate impact in this sphere.
King Gris (FR)
Managed to win a couple of handicap hurdles around 2½m at Ayr and Hexham last season and very much looks to be being brought along with similar intentions over fences based on his 2 previous efforts in this sphere.
Laska Du Breuil (FR)
Much improved to land handicap hurdle at Limerick (2¾m, soft) in May, but that is very much a standout effort and the likelihood is it'll be in handicaps if he's to make any sort of impact over fences.
Le Vent D'ex (FR)
No impact in a bumper or in a trio of maiden hurdles. Makes chasing debut.
Palace Boy (GER)
One-time fairly useful hurdler who has shown very little since returning from a lengthy absence for current connections. Makes chasing debut.
Rattledelatch (IRE)
Has quickly made up into a much better chaser than he was a hurdler, chasing home Kasper Hauser in a maiden at this track in August before taking another step forward when 9¼ lengths fourth of 11 to Love Me Tender in similar event at Listowel last time. Sets a clear standard.
Cruisin Susan (IRE)
Poor handicap hurdler these days on a long losing run. A switch to chasing at the age of 9 looks more like a hopeful roll of the dice than part of any long-term plan.
Kimy (FR)
Just a single win over hurdles, but it did come at this course. Is a very hit-and-miss performer, though, and wouldn't be sure to take to this discipline.
Lunar Majesty (IRE)
Placed once from 8 starts in maiden hurdles and, while dam was related to a couple of winning chasers, she's probably one for later on in this sphere. Still to try her hand in a handicap.
Moonlight Paradise (IRE)
Improved in first-time blinkers to open her account in 10-runner handicap hurdle at this course (21f, good) in August. Left with a lot to do when only mid-field at Navan next time. A winning pointer out of a winning chaser. He should prove at least as effective over fences.
