Stanage caught the eye when a fast-finishing third over C&D last time and seems sure to be on the premises, while Valentine Catcher is knocking on the door again and also commands plenty of respect. Cisco Disco and One Night Thunder also need factoring into this highly competitive sprint.

Quirky sort who bounced back to form when a 16/1 winner of 12-runner handicap here (1m, soft) 3 weeks ago. Back up 6 lb but goes well in the mud and can't be discounted in his bid for a sixth course success.

Winless since last March but posted easily best effort this season after a break with fast-finishing third of 10 to One Night Thunder over C&D (heavy) 9 days ago. Firmly in the picture off an unchanged mark.

Veteran who is thriving on a busy schedule and he readily made it 2 wins in his last 3 starts in apprentice riders handicap here (1m, heavy) 9 days ago. Escapes a penalty and hard to oppose.
The Gay Blade
Is enjoying a fine season and bagged a sixth success over C&D in June. Shaped as if the run was needed after a break when eighth of 10 in handicap at Carlisle (7f, good to soft) 29 days ago. No surprise to see him bounce back.
Ashen (IRE)
Not long with current stable when opening account over C&D in May and has held his form well since, third of 8 in handicap here (6f, heavy) 9 days ago. Well in the mix nudged up 1 lb.
Emery Down
Ended a losing run at Chepstow (7f) in August. Posted good efforts in 7f handicaps when fifth at Chester and third at Yarmouth since. Goes well on soft ground and can't be discounted.
Tactical Plan
It's now seventeen runs since his last win in 2024 and he failed to build on earlier promise when last of 14 in handicap at Yarmouth (1m, good) 3 weeks ago. Others appeal more.
Valentine Catcher
Enduring a lengthy barren spell but comes here in very good form, edged out only late on when a head second of 12 in handicap at Pontefract (6f, good) 3 days ago. Can race off the same mark here and has won in the mud so very much one to consider.
