PACIFIC STORM is bred to stay very well and might be worth chancing making his handicap debut in a visor. Recent course winner Fram Castle is respected over this longer trip, with Al's River completing the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Calshot Spit (IRE)
Scored twice on the level in 2024, including over C&D. Scored over hurdles at Fontwell last December and shaped as if needing the outing returned to this sphere after a 5-month break last week.
Merrijig
Capitalised on a falling mark at Newcastle last November and performed with credit when placed on 3 of his next 5 starts. Beaten a long way at Pontefract 3 weeks ago, though, and is probably opposable again despite reduced mark.
Forest Hills (IRE)
Fair sort on Flat for Rod Millman but failed to get anywhere near that level in 5 starts over hurdles for this yard. Significantly up in trip after 169 days off.
Chillhi (IRE)
Hurdle and Flat winner for James Owen last year but hasn't offered much for other trainers since. Easy to look elsewhere.
Fram Castle (IRE)
Ended 2025 out of form for Dominic Ffrench Davis but gained a first success for current yard in 10-runner handicap here (1¾m, good) 36 days ago, just holding on. Not taken lightly stepping up in trip.
Pacific Storm (FR)
Yet to show much in 3 starts but now makes handicap debut with a significant step up in trip likely to suit given his stamina-rich pedigree. Also wears first-time visor for stable now in much better form than when he was last seen so could be worth a play.
Individualiste (FR)
Lost his way for Gavin Cromwell and offered much more than previously for this yard under an enterprising ride when second of 11 in handicap (40/1) at Wolverhampton (16.5f) 9 days ago, Far from certain to reproduce that here, though.
Buck Barrow
Both career wins have come at Ffos Las on soft ground, latterly in a 1½m classified event in June. Placed in handicaps 3 of his last 5 starts and wasn't disgraced in a better race than he need contest at this course (1¾m, good to soft, 66/1) 25 days ago. Up in trip
Al's River (IRE)
Placed for the first time in his career when beaten 11 lengths into third in a 10-runner handicap at Nottingham (2¼m, good) 7 days ago, albeit seeming to come to the end of his tether late on. Place claims again with yard remaining in good form.
Nature (IRE)
Offered little in a trio of starts here in 2022. Registered 3 victories at Les Landes since and looked a tricky ride having a rare outing on the mainland at Wolverhampton (16.5f, 100/1) 9 days ago.
Cherry Cola
Twenty runs since her last win in 2023. Below-form fourth of 10 behind Fram Castle in handicap here (1¾m, good) 36 days ago. This course winner needs to take a step forward.
Star Of Jupiter (IRE)
Just one win from 24 Flat runs but was runner-up at Catterick in August and probably made her effort earlier than ideal when fourth of 9 there (2m, good to firm) 8 days ago.
Smith (IRE)
On a losing run and only seventh of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (2m, all-weather) in July. Others appeal more.
