Timeform View

Third on his hurdling debut, TYPHOON WARRIOR hasn't made much impact in 2 subsequent outings but he could yet do better as he goes handicapping for his leading yard. He gets the vote ahead of Knight Templar, who was successful on his most recent start over hurdles and arrives fit from the Flat, with City of Diamonds one to note on stable debut.

Timeform Comments

Unjeu Royal (FR)
Bumper winner who took a step forward over hurdles when making a successful start in handicaps at Plumpton in April. Again ran well when third of 7 at Warwick the following month, despite racing freely, and he could be in the mix back down in grade after a break.
Jaminska (FR)
Winner of a C&D novice in March last year and landed another novice at Newton Abbot on second start last season. Third in Grade 2/listed events subsequently but below form in handicaps last 3 outings. Eased in the weights ahead of return, though yard without a win since April.
Opening Bid
Returned as good as ever in only 2 starts in 2025, winning 21f handicap chase at Newton Abbot (his fourth course success) in May. Absent 17 months (has had a breathing operation) ahead of first run since leaving Chris Down, though has a lower hurdles mark to work from.
Knight Templar
Successful on the Flat early in the year and also scored in handicap hurdle at Taunton in March. Below form on the Flat last 2 outings, though no surprise to see him bounce back returned to hurdling with race fitness on his side and cheekpieces added.
Coconut Twist (IRE)
Won 3 times over hurdles in early-2025, the latest over 3¼m at Newton Abbot in April. Shaped better than the result in 2 starts during the autumn, fifth of 9 at the same course (2¾m) in October, but has 11-month absence to overcome back down in trip (hood refitted).
City Of Diamonds (IRE)
Maiden winner at Stratford last summer who made a successful handicap debut at Musselburgh in November. Progress has stalled since but he's now dropped below his last winning mark. Interesting after 5 months off ahead of first run since leaving Donald McCain. Tongue strap back on.
Typhoon Warrior (IRE)
Encouragement both starts in bumpers, before given a considerate introduction to hurdling when third of 8 in a Market Rasen novice in January. Well held both subsequent outings, but he remains with potential making handicap/seasonal debut with Harry Skelton on board for first time.
Fight My Fire (IRE)
Down the field in bumpers, but making second start over hurdles he landed 100/1 surprise in a Fontwell maiden (2¼m) a year ago. Hasn't kicked on since, though, well beaten in handicap at Hereford when last seen in April. Stable jockey rides Opening Bid.
Holeshot (IRE)
Won back-to-back handicap hurdles in early-2025 but didn't go on from his chasing debut last season, let down by his jumping. Below form back over hurdles when fifth of 7 at Taunton (3m) in April, so others more persuasive on return.
Prairie Diamond (IRE)
In first-time visor, doubled his tally over hurdles when making all at Wincanton (2½m) in April and, switched to cheekpieces after 4 months off, left behind a lesser effort when second of 7 at Fontwell (2¾m) 17 days ago. Task is now to back up recent run with visor refitted.
Phoenix Risen
Looked better than ever when making most at Taunton in February and shaped as if still in good form next time. Faced competition for the lead when fifth of 9 at Hereford in April, but there could be plenty of pace in this race as well.
Lully Du Houx (FR)
Some encouragement from off the pace on first 2 starts over hurdles, before finishing well held under more positive tactics in maiden at Newbury in February. Could yet do better as he goes handicapping after 7 months off.
Sioux Falls (GER)
Irish point winner who showed more than previously over hurdles when third in a Sedgefield maiden (2½m) in February. Shaped better than the distance beaten suggests in handicap at Ffos Las in March, stopping quickly under testing conditions. Off 6 months since.
Victory Shout (FR)
Fairly useful Flat winner who justified strong support to open his hurdles account in a Taunton handicap in March. Backed that up with 2 runner-up efforts at Wincanton the following month, so he's capable of getting involved if ready to go on reappearance.
Raffles Nobu (FR)
Capitalised on a much-reduced mark when recording a first British success at Newton Abbot (2¾m) in July. However, he's tended to find less than looked likely in his races since, including when second of 11 at the same course (17f) 3 weeks ago.
