Timeform View

The Flying Childers could be the key piece of form, with the third-place finisher FLANN SUNNA selected to enhance his positive profile and come out on top. In The Black has come a long way in a short period of time and given she was almost knocked over in that race, her performance can be upgraded. Mussab looks a solid 2-y-o, while Perfect Strike could have a bigger effort in him over 5f.

Timeform Comments

Carry The Flag (IRE)
5f listed winner who has had a busy campaign, advancing his form when an excellent second in Group 1 Morny at Deauville (6f) in August. Flying Childers may have come too soon but now has questions to answer at this level having been beaten before 7f was an issue in sales company 2 weeks ago.
Flann Sunna (IRE)
Impressive when clear-cut winner at Windsor and Ascot on first 2 starts this summer Lost unbeaten record when 4¼ lengths fifth to Man's Best Friend in Richmond at Goodwood but quickly back on his game when third in Group 2 Flying Childers at Doncaster on first go over 5f. Sets the standard.
Marco Polo (IRE)
All the rage for the Gimcrack at York but still looked very raw when well held. Got back on track when easily landing the odds back in a maiden at Cork before failing to come up to scratch in the Middle Park 2 weeks ago. Clearly held in high regard but needs to raise his game on first go over 5f.
Minster Man (IRE)
Built on his debut promise (form boosted since) when winning 5-runner novice at Musselburgh in August and he made light work of 2 rivals when supplementing that in a Chepstow novice later in the month. Bare form needs improving on at this level but his limit clearly hasn't been reached.
Mussab
Ran a cracker when third in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot in June on just his second start. Failed to repeat that effort when sixth of 10 in the Gimcrack but has confirmed himself a useful juvenile with novice/listed wins back over the minimum trip in recent weeks.
Never Enough
No Nay Never colt who confirmed debut promise when seeing off 8 rivals in 6f Ascot maiden in July. Far too free in the Gimcrack and retains potential with 5f worth exploring, but this no easy race to bounce back in.
Perfect Strike (FR)
Expensive breeze-up purchase (good-looking type) who continued his theme of big race-by-race progress when landing a 5f novice at Sandown 4 weeks ago. Looked right at home over the minimum trip and he's in the right hands to continue his upward trajectory.
This Moment (IRE)
Form has taken off in 5f nurseries in recent weeks, impressive again when completing the hat-trick at Chester 4 weeks ago. Seen to good effect that day but he's thriving and bang there on form up in class.
Armor Supreme (IRE)
Surpassed form of winning debut when second in a York listed race and ninth in the Queen Mary and she doubled her tally in listed company at the Curragh in August. Way she stuck to her task when 2 lengths third of 5 to Drazinda in Prix d'Arenberg at Longchamp suggests she's ready for 6f.
Bint Archange (IRE)
Ascot novice winner in May and cast aside a very heavy defeat in the Queen Mary when landing 8-runner listed race at Sandown. Possible to excuse Super Sprint run before finding Group 2 Lowther too tough on first crack at 6f. Cheekpieces now fitted.
Fast Track (IRE)
Limit looked fairly well established (placed twice at up to listed level having made the most of a simple task at Beverley) but she cranked it up a notch when an excellent fourth from the front in the Flying Childers 4 weeks ago. That puts her firmly in the picture.
In The Black
320,000 gns purchase who made winning start in 4-runner maiden at Carlisle (5f) in June. Mid-field in the Lowther upped markedly in class next time and even better when an excellent fifth in the Flying Childers. Better than the result too given the trouble she met. More to come.
Rogue Jewel (IRE)
Mehmas filly who has looked a useful prospect when winning 6f novice events at York and Ripon during the summer. Didn't do a great deal wrong when second upped to listed company at latter track but 5f isn't sure to suit.
