Timeform View

Having finished runner up to a next-time-out winner on her penultimate start, BINTOLA bounced right back to her very best when third in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago. Leaving the impression she can do better again at this trip, Harry Charlton's filly shades preference over Lion of Mali who has enjoyed a highly productive season and wasn't seen to best effect last time. Nanoscience, George Wickham, Commander of Life and Waistcoat are others to consider in a competitive finale.

Timeform Comments

Back To Me (IRE)
Both wins on all-weather, making a successful debut for Ben Haslam at Southwell (7f) in April. Well held on final start for that yard at York (6f) in June (changed hands 47,000 gns) and shaped as if better for the run over 6f on the other course here 7 weeks ago. Return to 7f a plus.
Majestic Dane
Made a successful debut at Newcastle (7f) in January and improved (useful form) when second under a penalty over same C&D a month later. Gelded thereafter and not kicked on in handicaps at Ripon/Kempton in recent months. Best watched on that evidence.
Waistcoat
Boasts 3 wins to his name for present stable, the latest from 5 lb lower mark over 6f at Newbury in July. Shaped as if still in good form both starts since, unable to land a blow from off the pace when fifth of 9 in handicap over 6f here 3 weeks ago. Not out of things returned to 7f.
Righthere Rightnow (FR)
Winless since his debut but gone close on a couple of occasions, including on return to these shores when third at Windsor (6f) in June. Not so good since and whilst his mark is easing, he's not the easiest to assess.
George Wickham (IRE)
Progressive 3-y-o who took another step forward when scoring on qualifying run at Wolverhampton (6f) in July. Off 3 months prior to an encouraging mid-field effort on handicap debut (travelled notably well) at Salisbury (6f) 8 days ago and that should have put him spot on for this first try at 7f.
Commander Of Life (IRE)
Consistent sort who deservedly capitalised on drop in grade when opening his account for the season at Doncaster (7f) in July, coming from off the pace in race that tested speed over stamina. Easy to overlook latest Wolverhampton run (positioned wide throughout) and he's not ruled out.
Lion Of Mali
Most progressive during 2026, registering a fifth career success at Newbury (7f, firm) from 6 lb lower in August. Not seen to anything like best effect when eighth at Doncaster since (short of room and finished with running left) and he's an interesting runner here.
The Sweet Escape
Progressed from a relatively low base on turf this year, improving further when scoring over 1m on the other course here in August. Testing conditions a plausible excuse for a lesser effort at Haydock 5 weeks ago and could bounce back.
Bintola
Made a successful return/handicap debut at Windsor (6f) in May. Improvement looked to have stalled thereafter but right back to best form on first try beyond 6f when posting a good third in 14-runner C&D handicap 3 weeks ago. That is unlikely to prove her limit at this trip. Big player.
Expert Agent
Doubled his tally for 2026 over 6f in May and ran with plenty of credit when sixth in Goodwood handicap in July. Hasn't found things panning out ideally either start since, latterly when sixth back here (6f) and not dismissed lightly having fallen back to last winning mark on rare start at 7f.
Nanoscience
Steadily progressive filly who showed a good attitude when doubling her tally in handicap at Windsor (7f) in June. Less exposed than most here and her latest C&D fifth came on the back of a 12-week layoff. Could build on that reunited with Oisin Murphy.
Mister Mojito (IRE)
Confirmed promise of his second here in July and proved as good as ever when resuming winning ways at Lingfield (7f) in August. Seemed found out by attritional nature of the race when third here (7f) when last seen 55 days ago and booking of William Buick catches the eye.
Lunario (IRE)
Back to winning ways at Ascot (7f) in July and quickly dispelled a lesser effort when fourth in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago (Bintola third/Nanoscience fifth). Record here entitles him to respect from what remains a workable mark.
Albemagic
Yard know this family well and some promise to glean from his exploits in novice/maidens at up to 1m. However, overlooked in betting and didn't offer much on handicap debut at Carlisle (1m, good to soft) 4 weeks ago. Still early days but this rates even tougher.
Akabusi
Took advantage of a drop in grade when resuming winning ways in race run to suit over 6f here in May. Form tailed off thereafter but back in good order for new stable/minus headgear with in-frame efforts at Yarmouth/this track (not best placed). Stamina to prove back over 7f.
