HOB'S ANGEL looks the percentage call in a competitive handicap. Katie's Casper, Soldier Saint and Youknowme all hold credible claims. Jimli's Cave won this corresponding race in 2024 and is worth noting for support.

Timeform Comments

Mister Vic (IRE)
Decisive winner at Ballinrobe for Noel Kelly last summer. Hasn't offered much in 3 starts for Steve Jones this season. Bit to prove now back with previous yard (third in a course bumper sole previous start for this stable).
King Of Westeros (IRE)
Runner-up sole start in points. Fared no better than on handicap debut at Fairyhouse last time, step up to 3m/first-time tongue strap seemingly doing nothing for him. Jack Kennedy now looks elsewhere.
Ersudaly
Off the mark at fifth attempt in points. Didn't get competitive in 7 starts under Rules for Colin Bowe. Needs a market check on the back of a significant trainer change, though, especially with stable jockey in the plate.
Sekakarma (IRE)
Had been knocking on the door and didn't need to improve to open his account at Wexford (2½m), keeping on gamely having been well positioned. Shaped as if still in good form when beaten 7¾ lengths off this mark at Navan (19f) subsequently.
Soldier Saint (IRE)
Placed in a Hereford bumper for Nicky Henderson in 2025. Hit the frame in Tramore handicap in May. Let down by his jumping on final start for Mark Edmund McCrory this summer. Handicapper has given him a chance ahead of this first start for new yard.
The Chancie Grey (IRE)
Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Diamatiste (2¾m winner). Brought along steadily in maiden hurdles this summer. Should at least benefit from the switch to a longer trip/low-grade handicap.
Tara Boe (IRE)
Off 22 months prior to this season. Fared no better switched to a handicap at Gowran (2½m, good to soft) 7 days ago, in rear when hampered (stumbled badly) leaving the back straight.
Vroomvroomboo (IRE)
Long-standing maiden. Beaten by more than a lack of fitness (following 10 weeks off) when 11¼-length sixth of 15 at Clonmel (23f, good) 8 days ago. A 1 lb reprieve is unlikely to be enough.
Jimli's Cave (IRE)
Sole success came in this corresponding event 2 years ago. Again made hard work of things when down the field in a Hexham handicap (23f) in late-June. Returns 5 lb below his winning mark and needs a market check with Daniel King booked/first-time tongue strap added.
Katie's Casper (IRE)
Standout effort when runner-up at Kilbeggan (3m) in June. Hinted at a revival at Galway (2¾m) last month and well weighted if back to her best with Jordan Gainford taking over.
Glendaars Crystal (IRE)
Fared no better than previously on handicap hurdle debut at this course (2¼m). Step up in trip/booking of J.J. Slevin at least offers some hope of better. Worth a market check with yard also saddling Katie's Casper.
Kared'as De Cougny (FR)
No impact under Rules for Philip Fenton in 2024/25. Well-held third in a point this spring. Wasn't unbacked when offering little on stable debut at Clonmel (23f, good, 12/1) 8 days ago. First-time visor will need to do the trick.
Hob's Angel (IRE)
Took advantage of career-low mark at Clonmel (2½m) in May. Has backed that up with 3 in-frame finishes, returning to form when 4 lengths fourth in big-field Sligo handicap latest. Leading chance at the weights with capable 3-lb claimer returning.
Doyen Og (IRE)
Remains a maiden after 18 starts. Well-held fourth here (2¼m) last month and well positioned when running to a similar level at Clonmel (2½m) 8 days ago. Steps back up in trip with good-value claimer again booked.
Youknowme (IRE)
Arrives on the back of his best effort, finishing 3½ lengths third in first-time blinkers here (2¼m, good to soft). Yard seemingly in better form in recent weeks and makes appeal stepping back up in trip.
