Timeform View

BARBAPAPA and Rappell are both potentially well treated returned to polytrack with the former getting the vote from a much lower draw. Iff In Doubt was a big disappointment when well backed last time but could be worth another chance back from a break.

Timeform Comments

Barbapapa (IRE)
Mixed record on turf this season but he's better on this surface and is potentially well handicapped back on it. Has to be of interest at this level.
Mickey The Steel
Veteran who ended a long losing run over C&D last month and backed it up when third at Bellewstown 9 days ago. Another 5 lb rise makes him look vulnerable, though.
Leveraging (IRE)
Maiden winner here (6f) last winter. Hasn't gone on in handicaps this season, though.
Lahore Da King (IRE)
Won back-to-back over C&D last winter and returned to winning ways at Bellewstown in April. Generally struggled since but latest fifth at Gowran off sliding mark was at least a step back in the right direction. Usual headgear left off.
Nazario (IRE)
Yet to win a race but ultra consistent and probably stretched under the conditions when upped in trip at Galway latest. Headgear back on.
In A Hurry
Thirsk maiden winner last summer but 0-8 in handicaps for David O'Meara after. Well held on yard debut but fared a lot better when third over C&D 3 weeks ago despite taking a strong hold. Entitled to come on again.
Glendower
Maiden with a mixed record on the Flat and over hurdles for this yard. Takes a marked drop in trip.
Rappell (IRE)
Opened his account for the year at Limerick (6.7f) in July. Decent placed efforts last 2 starts and won here (6f) last autumn off 5 lb higher.
Battle Borne (IRE)
C&D maiden winner in February who posted easily his best effort since when second in a 1m claimer at same course in May. However, has struggled in handicaps otherwise.
Elusive Duke (IRE)
Proving expensive to follow for current yard, runner-up 3 times this summer. Not so good the last twice, albeit he was held up in a steadily-run race at Cork last time. Back down in trip on only his second start on all-weather. Headgear back on (ran well when tried in cheekpieces 3 starts back).
Iff In Doubt (IRE)
Showed improved form at this course last winter, opening account over C&D in February. Good second here (1m) the following month before running well on turf when fifth of 20 at the Curragh. Major let-down back on this surface in July and off since.
Evangelic (IRE)
No form for current yard.
Beat The Devil (IRE)
Had a good spell here last winter but has struggled for form since, including when well backed returned to this venue last 2 starts.
Jess Abi (IRE)
No better than mid-division in 3 maidens and similar story in handicaps. First start in 10 months having left Dermot Weld.
Hastily
Of little account nowadays. RESERVE.
