INSTANT FORCE looked a 5f natural when finding a chunk of improvement to score at Windsor 3 weeks ago and with that race working out well, his opening mark looks lenient. A gelding operation may help Barnaby Rudge get back on the up so he's second choice, ahead of Noble Raider.

Timeform Comments

Noble Raider (IRE)
Continued theme of race-by-race progress when landing the odds in a Doncaster maiden in May. Off the track since but he's in very capable hands and is a likely further improver on nursery debut.
Barnaby Rudge (IRE)
Stable's 2-y-os well forward and made a winning start in a 5f novice at Nottingham in June. Followed up under penalty at Newcastle (strong form) and perhaps best to overlook backward step at Musselburgh given he missed the break at speed-favouring track. Open to improvement having been gelded.
Black Velvet Boy (IRE)
Progressive sort who got off the mark at Beverley in July before belying weakness in the market when following up on nursery bow at Windsor 3 weeks later. Cemented a very solid start to career in nurseries with a pair of runner-up efforts since, worn down close home 2 weeks ago.
Instant Force (IRE)
Shaped best without quite justifying short odds in 4-runner maiden at Ayr (6f) on debut and unlucky to bump into a potentially useful southern raider when filling the same spot at Hamilton. Looked a 5f natural when successful in first-time cheekpieces at Windsor and opening mark is lenient.
Influencer Man (IRE)
Dug deep when bagging 7-runner nursery at Carlisle (5f, good to firm) in August. Runner-up that day won next time but he's made an underwhelming start to his career in handicaps.
Rotelle
Edged out a now useful sort when scoring with a bit to spare on debut at Nottingham in the spring and return to softer ground/application of cheekpieces saw him post best effort yet when second on nursery bow at Sandown (5f) in August. Never really looked like getting involved at Chester,
Harley (IRE)
Made the most of what became a straightforward opportunity when winning 6-runner novice at Hamilton in August. Matched that form when second at Pontefract but isn't obviously well treated on this first attempt over 5f. Cheekpieces on.
Bear Lee (IRE)
Won a weak 5f Musselburgh novice in late-June but has advanced her form in defeat since, doing all she could when beaten 5¼ lengths in a Ripon listed race in August. Backward step in a nursery at Doncaster and now goes down in distance.
Furturra
Already had plenty of racing when doubling his tally in a Redcar novice (6f) in June. Mixed fortunes since but right back on his game when fifth at Ayr 3 weeks ago, shaping as though return to 5f would be in his favour.
Lake Muritz
Confirmed the promise of her debut when successful at Beverley in May. Set a couple of stiff tasks at this venue soon after but given a break, she shaped as though back in reasonable heart despite finishing last of 5 in a 6f nursery at Pontefract.
