CUT A DASH races outside of Group company for the first time since his course debut success in the spring and is narrowly preferred to Gimcrack fourth Agamemnon. Divine Whisper and Dubai Champion are next on the list.

Timeform Comments

Agamemnon
Has developed into a useful and likeable juvenile, including 3¼ lengths fourth of 10 to Arapaho Gold in Gimcrack over C&D (good to soft) in August. Seemed to find the return to 5f on the sharp side in the Flying Childers since. Respected back at 6f.
Battle Fever (IRE)
Off the mark in 5f Thirsk novice in August. Good placed efforts in a valuable sales race over C&D and a 6f nursery at Hamilton (both soft) since. Has a bit to find at this level, though.
Big Cigar (IRE)
Newcastle novice scorer who made a winning nursery debut over C&D (good to firm) in July. Has come up well short in Group races at Glorious Goodwood and the Ebor meeting here since and this is only slightly easier.
Cut A Dash
Made a winning debut over 5f here (good to soft) at the Dante meeting in May and built on that when fourth in the Coventry at Royal Ascot 5 weeks later. Respectable 2¾ lengths fifth of 8 to Nabati in Mill Reef Stakes (28/1) at Newbury (6f, firm) 21 days ago. Player in this slightly lower grade.
Dubai Champion (IRE)
Shaped well tackling 6f for the first time when narrowly denied in Glorious Goodwood nursery, caught late having hung right. Blotted his copybook by almost refusing to race in the Roses at the Ebor meeting but bounced with a good second in listed race at Ayr (5f, soft) last month.
Hickory Lad (IRE)
Well suited by the step up to 6f when doubling his career tally with a decisive success in the Woodcote at Epsom in June. Ran up to his best in the Roses over C&D at the Ebor meeting and perhaps soft ground didn't suit when only fifth (Dubai Champion second) in Ayr listed race last month.
Matteo (IRE)
Won a pair of 5f Beverley novices on good to firm in the spring but has struggled in the Gimcrack over C&D and Mill Reef at Newbury since. Needs to resume his progression.
Love A Giggle (IRE)
Made it 2-2 when pipping Armor Supreme on the line in listed Marygate over 5f here in May. Limitations seemingly exposed since, including down the field in the Lowther over C&D at the Ebor meeting.
Angels Passing (IRE)
Built on promising debut fourth in the Marygate at the Dante meeting when easily taking a small-field maiden at Hamilton 3 weeks later. Not up to the Lowther back here since but it's still early days.
Divine Whisper
Edged out by subsequent listed winner Big Negotiator on 5f course debut in June. Landed short odds 6f at Windsor later that month and improved when third in a useful conditions race at Glorious Goodwood (5f, good to firm) since. Should have more to offer, particularly at 6f.
Spirit Of Lyra (IRE)
Winner of maiden at Lingfield (6f, good to firm) in July. Not seen to best effect when second of 12 in novice at Salisbury (6f, good to soft) next time. No apparent excuses over 7f at Newbury since but connections are quick to return her to 6f.
