PRINCESS DAY proved useful in bumpers last season and is taken to make a successful start over hurdles in the opener. Divine Diva and Kamille Au Kanada may provide the chief threat in what should prove an informative contest.

Timeform Comments

Kamille Au Kanada (FR)
First past the post on both starts in points (disqualified first occasion) and showed a fair bit in a couple of bumpers. Completed a simple task on hurdles bow at Plumpton in May and she remains with potential.
Bath Taverness
Well backed when making her third start in bumpers a winning one at Newton Abbot in July. However, ran out when remote third on hurdles bow at Warwick last month and looks best watched here.
Connells Cross (IRE)
Joined Jennie Candlish after showing promise on sole start for Fergal O'Brien and won a pair of Sedgefield bumpers earlier this year. Now with new connections and is not taken lightly on switch to hurdling having had a breathing operation.
Divine Diva (IRE)
Successful on sole outing in Irish points and made a pleasing start under Rules when third of 12 in listed bumper at Cheltenham last November. Reportedly bled when well beaten at Aintree on sole outing since but must be of interest on hurdling bow here.
Midnight Doyen (IRE)
Just modest form at best in a trio of bumpers but posted promising fourth of 18 in novice at Wincanton (2m) on hurdles bow in February and ought to appreciate this longer trip.
Princess Day (IRE)
€170,000 purchase after landing an Irish point last spring and looked an excellent prospect in winning first 2 starts in bumpers last winter. Disappointed at Aintree on final outing but looks a big player on hurdles debut here.
Walkinthemournes (IRE)
€20,000 3-y-o, £60,000 4-y-o, Walk In The Park mare. Dam lightly raced in bumpers/over hurdles, half-sister to Champion Hurdle winner Katchit and useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m) Prince Erik. Easy winner of sole start in Irish points and needs monitoring in market on yard/hurdles bow.
