TUNE IN A BOX is on a handy mark and can make a winning return to action. Leader Crik is unexposed but represents a yard who can certainly ready one so he can't be ignored, while Matty's Getaway and Deep Cave also command respect.

Timeform Comments

Deep Cave (IRE)
Useful chaser who won first 2 starts over 3m last season. Good 5¼ lengths sixth of 15 to Matty's Getaway back over hurdles at Haydock (3m, good, 28/1) when last seen in May. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals.
Matty's Getaway (IRE)
Ready winner of 21f Doncaster maiden hurdle last November. Improved when winning 15-runner race on handicap debut (7/1) at Haydock (3m, good) in May, suited by increase in trip. Has few miles on the clock and should have more to offer.
Service Minimum (FR)
Thriving when completing a mares handicap double with a strong-travelling display at Warwick in April. Quickly resumed progress when also scoring in an open handicap at Newton Abbot by 2½ lengths from Kom Tu Voudras last month. Further improvement required from a 6 lb higher mark.
Leader Crik (FR)
Looked in need of the experience on hurdles debut and duly stepped up on that following a breathing operation when landing a Doncaster maiden (19f, soft) in February. Yard are typically well amongst the winners for the time of year and he has to be taken seriously upped in trip on handicap debut.
Thank You Ma'am
Back on track in the spring after a brief sprint chasing, fourth of 6 in handicap hurdle (6/1) at Huntingdon (25f, good) when last seen in May, with 2 next-time-out winners coming out of the race. Both successes have come with the cheekpieces fitted and they are back on here.
Jury's In (IRE)
Improved on first 3 starts over hurdles, culminating with wide-margin win of novice at Fakenham in February. Failed to build on that in a competitive race on handicap debut at Sandown when next seen but this longer trip promises to suit.
Alien Storm (IRE)
Scored over fences at Plumpton and Doncaster early last season and ran up to best when second at Bangor in May. Shaped as if still in reasonable heart for a long way before falling heavily 2 out at Uttoxeter in June. Is on a lower mark over hurdles, but is probably using this as a pipe-opener.
King Of The Lake
Sole success last season came over C&D last December. Not quite in the same form after but has at least dropped back down to last winning mark.
Tune In A Box (IRE)
Eleven runs since last win in 2024. 9/4, very good 1¾ lengths second of 8 to Calimystic in handicap chase at Sandown (3m, soft) when last seen in March. Goes back hurdling and has tongue strap refitted. Has gone close off higher marks in this sphere and yard did well at this meeting last season.
Oakley (GER)
Doubled his tally for the season in game fashion at Uttoxeter (23f) in late-June. Wasn't disgraced but never looked like following up at Cartmel the following month. May find this too competitive.
Jalisco Star (IRE)
Much better over hurdles than fences, adding to her tally in small-field races at Uttoxeter and over C&D last season. Found out in deeper races on last 2 starts. Others more persuasive.
Time To Bite (IRE)
Front-running veteran. Won over fences at Fakenham in May and runner-up over hurdles on last 2 starts. Can give his running but may prove vulnerable to younger legs at the business end.
