Timeform View

A winner on the Flat in France, KLYCOT has developed into a likeable type over hurdles for his current yard and looks interesting upped to 2m for the first time on the level. He gets the vote ahead of Carthusian, who is respected having won both starts for his present stable, with Kotari another to consider.

Timeform Comments

Carthusian (IRE)
Didn't manage to win for Jessica Harrington in Ireland but made a successful stable debut in handicap at Chester (14.5f) last month. Forged clear when following up at Ffos Las (2m) 2 weeks ago, so he's not taken lightly despite the step back up in grade.
Klycot (FR)
Fairly useful winner on the Flat (raced up to 1½m) in France and similar form as a juvenile hurdler for current yard, scoring twice before a good third in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham in March. Makes plenty of appeal up in trip for first start on the level for this stable.
Arc Zoosve
Much improved for current yard with 6 wins since December, successful over this C&D in May before going on to complete the 4-timer at Lingfield (all-weather). Shaped as if possibly amiss when down the field at Newcastle in June, but he could bounce back after a break.
Aggagio (FR)
5-time winner at this venue, with his latest success over C&D in June last year. Yet to fully fire this year, including over hurdles the last twice, but he's now 5 lb below his last winning mark so isn't one to be ruled out back here.
Solar Pass
Doubled her tally at Southwell (1½m) on return in March and runner-up 3 times since, including over this C&D in May. However, has run below form the last twice, returning from 13 weeks off when down the field here (1¾m) 18 days ago.
Mr Freedom
Without a win campaigned back on the Flat this year but arrives in decent heart, creditable fourth of 10 at Salisbury (1¾m) 10 days ago. Can give his running once more trying this trip for the first time on the level.
Rogue Empire
Completed a hat-trick with success on the turf at Lingfield (16.5f) in June and has looked back in form on his last 2 starts, fourth of 6 at Newmarket (2¼m) 22 days ago. Remains 6 lb above his last winning mark, though does drop back in grade here.
Poncho (FR)
Not straightforward but was runner-up in this race in 2024 before landing the prize last year. However, he ran below form on final outing in 2025, before falling over hurdles at Sandown in January. Has 9-month absence to overcome back on the Flat.
Division Day
Successful twice on the Flat this season, winning at Doncaster (1½m) in June and in 3-runner contest at Pontefract (17f) in August. Making first start since leaving Brian Ellison, ran well when third of 8 at Kempton (2m) 5 weeks ago, the winner scoring again since.
Easter Icon
Landed back-to-back all-weather handicaps early last year but not in the same form in his 2 starts on the Flat since, the latest when sixth of 8 at Kempton in August. Did score over hurdles prior to that, but fell early on when last seen. Others more persuasive back on the level.
Kotari (FR)
Ran better than for a while when close fifth of 8 at Bath (1¾m) in June and, after a lesser effort over hurdles, soon returned to form when runner-up at Haydock 16 days ago. Represents last year's winning yard and enters calculations from his much-reduced mark.
Fair Dinkum (IRE)
Dual winner last autumn and worked his way back to form this season when narrowly denied at Salisbury (1½m) in May. A couple of below-par efforts followed, but got back on track when 2¼ lengths fifth of 12 at Bath (1¾m) in September. Return to further should suit.
