Timeform View

MOGWLI is firmly in the veteran stage of his career but took a step back in the right direction when fourth at Thurles on Thursday and looks worth chancing from a basement mark. Cisterna is hard to rely on but has already won over C&D this year and looks the main danger, while Draiocht is also respected from a good mark.

Timeform Comments

La Tulipe Noire (IRE)
More miss than hit since winning handicap at Cork and this race last autumn. Returns to handicap company on a reasonable mark, having been out of her depth in listed company at Listowel (200/1) in September, but plenty to prove at present.
Navagio (IRE)
On long losing run and very little impact last 4 starts. Has dropped to a career-low mark and booking of Colin Keane always noteworthy, though hard to make a case for him unless the market should suddenly speak in his favour.
Big Bill (FR)
Low-mileage 3-y-o. Improved when winning 9-runner handicap at Bellewstown (1m, soft) earlier this month and not ideally drawn when sixth of 15 to Jasmine Affanalis at Killarney 7 days ago. Should be in the mix.
Cosmic Funk (IRE)
Yet to win a race but he's pretty consistent, finishing in the frame on his last 2 starts, respectable 4½ lengths fourth of 14 to Navajo Point at Gowran on latest.
Zabriskie Point
Twenty-four runs since last win in 2023 but has managed to be placed on 3 occasions this year, 6¼ lengths third of 14 to Selective Power at Bellewstown last time.
Brains (IRE)
Losing run is mounting up but is proving consistent all the same, hitting the frame on each of his last 3 starts, 1¾ lengths fourth of 19 to Verified at Cork on latest. Should again give his running.
Cisterna (IRE)
Comfortably scored in a 3-y-o C&D handicap in May. Bounced back to form when runner-up in this grade at Cork before underlining his inconsistency at Listowel (7f) last time. Return to this venue should suit, though, and yard remains in good order. One to consider.
Little Miss P (IRE)
Maiden who has failed to match the fair form she showed as a 3-y-o this season, including for current connections last 3 starts.
Unfamiliar (IRE)
Winner at Limerick in June but well held all 3 starts since. Returns from below that winning mark but has something to prove now and the market would have to speak firmly in her favour for her to become of interest.
Courtlough Gula (IRE)
Little show in maidens and on handicap debut. Significantly back down in trip here.
Movin And Groovin (IRE)
Back from 14 months off when scoring at Dundalk in July. Seems to save her best for that course, though, and well held at Laytown last time. Rare outing on turf here.
Draiocht (IRE)
In frame first 2 starts this year. Hasn't been in the same form since, though shaped better than the bare result when 2¾ lengths fifth of 15 to Jasmine Affanalis at Killarney. Claims if building on that effort now.
Manhattan Dandy (IRE)
Veteran on a long losing run and ran no sort of race after blowing the start at Bellewstown last time. Capable if on a going day but they are becoming far less frequent.
Mogwli (IRE)
Veteran who won a pair of 1m handicaps last season. Hasn't fired this year but took a step back in the right direction when 3 lengths fourth of 13 to Starflow at Thurles last time. Has handled quick turnarounds in the past and capable of going close if building on that performance.
