Timeform View

MOTAWAARED certainly wasn't winning out of turn at Ayr on Thursday but he's a consistent and in-form performer, which cannot be said about most of these. The follow-up is therefore on the cards, with Pride of Nepal and Mudita heading the opposition.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Motawaared traded at a high of 4.40 and Betfair SP of 3.08 when winning last time, a race in which it raced behind.

Timeform Comments

Lone Piper
Signed off 2024 with a handicap win at Windsor. Restricted to just 4 runs last year, failing to repeat that form (including trying to win that aforementioned race again) and he's been off since. Has left Tom Clover and goes without headgear.
Tee Aitch Aye (IRE)
Dropped in the weights and back in very good form of late with the cheekpieces added, readily doubling his tally in 10-runner handicap at Hamilton (1m, soft, 7/4) 18 days ago by 3¾ lengths. Back up 7 lb and not in the same form back at that venue (9f) 3 weeks ago.
Pride Of Nepal
Had a purple patch during first half of this season, completing a 4-timer over further at Ripon in June. Subsequent exploits suggest the handicapper has had his measure but this is easier than the race he contested on stable debut at Newmarket 3 weeks ago. Tongue strap back on.
Ephron (IRE)
Doubled his tally in handicaps at Hamilton (1m) in August but not for the first time this year he failed to back that up when sixth of 9 at Carlisle (1m) 3 weeks later. Redcar run latest is easy to excuse given how the race unfolded.
Filly Eilish (IRE)
Low-mileage filly who was much improved when beating a subsequent winner to open her account at Southwell in late-July. Excuses next 2 starts but fitted with a tongue tie, she didn't look as at home switched to turf at Ayr.
Motawaared
Gained reward for a series of solid efforts when finally off the mark on heavy ground at Ayr on Thursday. Suited by way race developed but up just 2 lb so follow-up claims are bright back in distance.
Mudita (IRE)
Ripon maiden winner who caught the eye when well-backed fourth in Class 5 handicap at Redcar (1¼m, good) in August. Best not judged on subsequent effort in higher grade at Beverley (heavy) but hooded, it was harder to find an excuse at Ayr (1¼m, soft) 25 days ago. Returns to 1m.
Star Start (IRE)
Added another 2 wins to his tally over longer trips this season. Drop to 9f looked against him at Newmarket and didn't fare much better on all-weather 2 weeks ago. Visor replaces cheekpieces.
Ibn Altheeb (IRE)
Sole success came when fitted with first-time cheekpieces at Wolverhampton last autumn. Made the frame twice for this yard but has been well held on last 3 starts. Cheekpieces back on.
