POSSESSIVE didn't kick on after a promising winning debut for Karl Burke but new connections are quick to drop him in grade and he's more than capable of winning on these terms. Donna Beauty is the obvious threat assuming she shrugs aside a heavy defeat in a nursery, with Mick's The Boy expected to plug on into a place.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Possessive traded at a low of 1.39 and Betfair SP of 2.02 when losing last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Peggy's Lad (IRE)
Won a 7f maiden on Newcastle's all-weather in June. Found the going tough in a nursery/sales race twice since and more needed on these terms, even down in grade.
Possessive
Looked useful when making a winning debut in 8-runner 6f novice at York in May. Below expectations in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom next time and also failed to land the odds in a lesser race at Thirsk, albeit it wasn't a bad effort. Since left Karl Burke cheaply but should be a big factor (gelded).
Amantha (IRE)
Consistent type who doubled her tally in 7f Redcar seller in August. Failed to get home in the mud at Beverley and also not on her game switched to all-weather. Exposed and this is a better race than the Redcar one.
Mick's The Boy (IRE)
Best effort when chasing home subsequent Gimcrack winner Arapaho Gold in a Thirsk novice in July. Looked at home over 7f when plugging on for fourth at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago and he should be keeping on well again at this level. Headgear removed.
Stellar Quest (IRE)
Son of Space Traveller who looks a stable lesser light after 2 runs.
Donna Beauty (IRE)
Had looked an awkward ride but more straightforward when making all in 6f Chester novice (soft) last month. That form reads pretty well in the context of this but she must cast aside a very heavy defeat switched to a nursery at Nottingham. Back up in distance.
Fern Clyde
Improved to get off the mark in an ordinary maiden at Pontefract (6f) in June. More miss than hit since and her level is very well established.
Bonjour Belle
Exposed as modest over various trips so set to struggle on these terms.
Liveadream
Runner-up in a C&D seller in June but that race wasn't as strong as this one and her limitations have been exposed in nurseries since.
