Placed twice upon returning to the Flat this season and, upped to 2m, gained a deserved first success in 9-runner handicap at Newcastle 10 weeks ago (the second scored next time). Strong contender with more still to offer as a stayer.
Simple Star (IRE)
From his career-low mark, recorded a first win for current yard in 6-runner contest at this course (1¾m) 12 days ago, well ridden having typically been slowly away (sometimes markedly so). Will need things to drop right if he's to follow up.
Alpine Sierra (IRE)
Landed a hat-trick in May, including success at this course (12.5f). After a couple of lesser efforts has returned to form the last twice, fourth of 10 at Ayr (13f) 24 days ago, and he's back down to his last winning mark. Merits consideration up in trip.
Mr Withington (FR)
Still looking for a breakthrough victory but finished closer than previously when ¾-length second of 8 in handicap at Catterick (1¾m) in August. Wasn't in the same form, though, when fifth of 9 at Newcastle (12.5f) last time. Has something to find tried over further.
Storm On Jura
Remains a maiden but was only just edged out at Hamilton (1½m, soft) last month. Also finished runner-up over the same C&D 2 weeks ago and she could be in the mix as she goes up in distance.
Galahad Threepwood
Had struggled for form since returning from 14-month absence, before bouncing back when second of 9 in handicap at Southwell 20 days ago. Has dropped a long way in the weights, though needs to be able to back up latest effort.
Fairydale (IRE)
Had been showing better signs switched to more positive tactics and, upped to this trip, got off the mark when making all at Catterick 12 days ago. Looks the likely pace angle in this race and can give another good account.
Falaise Blanc (FR)
Sole win came at Newcastle (1¼m) last summer. Has made the frame on several occasions this year but arrives on the back of 2 lesser efforts, last of 6 in race won by Simple Star here (1¾m) 12 days ago. Visor back on.
