Timeform View

ALBERICH was well backed and just failed behind Showcasing Glory (runs in the first division at 16.12) on his debut at Newcastle 3 weeks ago. That was a promising start and could improve past the penalised Tredegar Square who was successful first time up here in August. Harpagoside is an interesting newcomer hailing from a stable that has had a fine season with its juveniles.

Timeform Comments

Huwa Baree (USA)
Knew his job and knuckled down well to make a winning start in 11-runner maiden at Lingfield (7f, all-weather) in August. Failed to see out 1m here 5 weeks ago and needs to quickly get back on track.
Tredegar Square
Stable has had plenty of success with this family and he became another winning newcomer for them this season when landing 12-runner C&D maiden 9 weeks ago. Should progress and can go well again under a penalty under Oisin Murphy.
Alberich (IRE)
Well backed and displayed plenty of ability when neck second of 13 to Showcasing Glory (runs in the first division) starting out at Newcastle (7f) 2 weeks ago. Yard brings its juveniles on plenty for an outing so he should go close again from stall 1.
Desert Legend (IRE)
Fair form when third in novices on firm/good to firm at Windsor (6f) and Lingfield (5f) in the summer. Sent off at long odds on his nursery debut at Newmarket (7f) 9 weeks ago and made little impact. Has been gelded and could yet do better switched to all-weather (is a good type physically).
Harpagoside
Foaled March 16. Mohaather colt. Half-brother to useful 7f winner Molaqab. Stable have had a great season with 2-y-os (good record on all-weather). Worth a look.
Saburo (GER)
Foaled May 17. €28,000 yearling, Japan gelding. Dam 2-y-o 1m winner in Germany. May need time and a longer trip.
Twilight Fox
22,000 gns Twilight Son gelding from the family of multiple Group 1 winner Russian Rhythm. Sent off 150/1 but showed a bit in 7f Leicester maiden on debut 3 weeks ago.
Nil Satis Supreme (IRE)
Cheap purchase who looked badly in need of the experience when well beaten on debut at Wolverhampton (6f) 7 weeks ago.
Taran Bolta
Foaled March 27. Lightning Spear gelding. Brother to 6f winner Thunderous Love and half-brother to 2-y-o 6f winner Hill Cove. Yard's newcomers this year have been better for a run.
Frankie Power
Mixed pedigree (by a Group 1-winning juvenile sprinter but out of a relative to a stayer) and looked one for the longer term in 7f Haydock novice on debut early last month.
Alpha Bella
Foaled February 3. Bobby's Kitten filly. Dam 1½m winner out of useful French 1m-9.7f winner Alumna. Drawn widest and probably one for the future.
