Timeform View

A chance is taken on ORGAN who has a good draw and has been the subject of an interesting trainer change. Fantastic Fox finally got his head back in front last time and remains well treated on anything like his best form on this surface. Yorkshire is also of interest back on all-weather if Billy Loughnane is able to navigate him into a good position from stall 12.

Timeform Comments

First Principle
Forward-going type whose progress has halted since winning at Wolverhampton in the spring, with his attitude looking questionable on occasions.
Witch Hunter (FR)
Bounced back to winning ways in the Summer Cup at Thirsk (1m) in August but more miss than hit since. Has quickly dropped to 3 lb below the mark he defied at Thirsk but he's not one for maximum faith.
Yorkshire (IRE)
Good all-weather record includes a 7f win here off 5 lb higher in April 2025. Has drawn a blank since but mainly on turf and no surprise were a return to polytrack to spark a revival with Billy Loughnane doing the steering. Draw not ideal.
Caromb
Pretty useful winner on all-weather in France. Oisin Murphy booked on first run for good new stable but stall 13 could prove troublesome. Has had a breathing operation.
Spell Master
Ended light 2025 campaign with victory at Newcastle (7f) in October for Andrew Balding. Has matched that form for current yard this season without winning, including third of 14 at York (1m, soft) in August. Probably worth forgiving a lesser run in Cambridgeshire since given his overall consistency.
Aqpan (IRE)
Looked promising on all-weather at the start of his career, including a 7f Southwell maiden success in March. Subsequent turf efforts somewhat underwhelming so his hopes are pinned on a return to all-weather sparking a revival.
Racingbreaks Ryder (IRE)
Back-to-back wins on all-weather at Newcastle (1m) and here (7f) this summer. Latest third of 9 at Ripon (1m, soft) shows that he is still in form.
I'm Workin On It
Most reliable at this track, winning 4 times over 7f, the latest in May. Creditable in-frame efforts over C&D on his last 2 outings but the outside stall could make life tricky.
One More (IRE)
Failed to fire at Meydan at the start of this year but enhanced his good record on polytrack when shading a tight finish over 7f at Lingfield in March. Off since a lesser effort at Wolverhampton the following month (final start for Richard Hannon). Best watched here unless betting says otherwise.
Star Anthem (IRE)
Sole success came as a juvenile in Bath maiden (heavy) in 2024. Hasn't recaptured his useful best in 3 outings this year. Cut some slack by the handicapper as a result but need to see more.
Fantastic Fox
Ended a lengthy losing run when seeing off 11 rivals at Newcastle (1m) in July. Up 4 lb but retains plenty of handicapping scope on old form.
Organ
Three turf wins at up to 1m last year and went close to another at Chester (1¼m, good) in May. Another creditable effort when third at Nottingham in May (final start for Martyn Meade). First run for new yard and on all-weather. Interesting runner.
Crack On Boys
Useful effort when scoring on all-weather at Newcastle last summer. Has been unable to make a significant impact since and chance he might need this after 7 months off (gelded).
Archer Royal (IRE)
Best effort in handicaps this year when 3 lengths fifth of 8 at Sandown (7f, soft) 44 days ago, keeping on after losing place. Return to 1m may suit. Visored first time (worn cheekpieces and blinkers before).
