Timeform View

Having caught the eye on his penultimate start, EMPEROR CARADOC fully confirmed the promise of that run when getting on top late on over 5f at Redcar 9 days ago. He ought to be highly competitive again on the back of a 4 lb rise with the return to 6f a likely plus. Kats Bob and Fizzy Cristal are others to consider, along with Acclaimed Freedom.

Timeform Comments

Goyard (IRE)
Made an encouraging return when third at Pontefract in June and back to that sort of form of late, placed in a pair of 5f Southwell handicaps, latterly when third on Saturday. No reason why he won't give another good account.
Kats Bob
Three-time C&D winner who tasted success 5 times in 2025. Not added to his tally this season but he arrives having ran creditably when third at Southwell (6f) 9 days ago, setting a sound pace against a thriving pair. Can be competitive again.
Logi Bear (IRE)
Went the wrong way for Richard Hannon last year but back in better form for new yard this summer, doubling his career tally at Lingfield (6f) in August. Excuses when last of 7 at Epsom sole outing since and his stable remains in good form ahead of this.
Acclaimed Freedom
All-weather novice winner last summer who has improved a little following a gelding operation, second behind Fizzy Cristal at Wolverhampton (6f) prior to making the frame on both starts since. Should give another good account with blinkers now replacing cheekpieces.
Yorkshire Glory (IRE)
Topped off a remarkable winter when recording his ninth win of the campaign over C&D in March. Shaped as if needing first start for 5 months at Redcar 27 days ago and this 7-time C&D winner can be expected to fare better back here with that under his belt.
Emperor Caradoc (FR)
Caught the eye with his finishing effort at Ripon on penultimate start and he duly built on that when defying reduced mark at Redcar (5f) 9 days ago, keeping on well to lead late on. Step back up to 6f will hold no fears and shortlisted from 4 lb higher.
Fizzy Cristal
Dual C&D winner who proved at least as good as ever having edged back down to last winning mark when resuming winning ways at Wolverhampton (6f) 55 days ago, by neck from Acclaimed Freedom. Record here stands at 211 and possibilities from 3 lb higher mark.
The Green Man (IRE)
Recorded three wins here last year (twice over C&D) and largely consistent in defeat during first half of 2026. Disappointed on 2 of his 3 starts on turf thereafter but return to all-weather an obvious plus from sliding mark back down in trip.
Roaring Ralph
Thriving earlier this year with 5 wins from February to June. However, looks to have gone off the boil in recent months and others arrive with more pressing claims.
Great
Successful twice this summer, latterly at Pontefract (5f) in August and back to that sort of form when posting a good third back at that venue (6f) last week. Each-way possibilities again back on all-weather.
Supreme Lillia
Encouraging third of 7 in a 7f novice here on debut last November. Below that level in pair of starts during the spring, not knocked about when fifth of 6 on qualifying run at Thirsk (1m) in April. Market should guide now handicapping over shorter trip.
Bellagio Man (IRE)
Not straightforward but refitted with blinkers when landing back-to-back C&D handicaps last October. Has yet to fire confined to just 3 outings so far this season and he looks best watched until displaying more positive signs.
