Timeform View

ICE SHOW was much improved on the back of an 8-week absence when opening her account over 7f here 10 days ago. Remaining low mileage and in excellent hands, she appeals as the type to build on that and earns the vote to follow up. Ey Up He's A Star, recent C&D winner Whiskey Pete and Amarachi head up the dangers, with Rugby Union not dismissed lightly either.

Timeform Comments

Rua Mor (IRE)
Lightly-raced 4-y-o who remains a maiden but showed improved form switched to a handicap for the first time when third at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 3 weeks ago. Task now is to build on that but it isn't out of the question.
Ey Up He's A Star
Course winner who has been back in fine form since the cheekpieces went on and gained a first win on turf in 10-runner handicap at Ayr (1m, good to firm) in July. Creditable fourth after 8 weeks off over C&D in September and possible he'll be sharper with that run under his belt.
Turtle Reef
Free-going sort who ran one of his better races despite going about things in contrasting fashion when third at Beverley (8.5f) 3 weeks ago, losing momentum when hampered before keeping on again final 1f. No banker to be in same form here, though.
Imola (IRE)
Three all-weather wins during first half of this year. Form has rather tailed off more recently but likely best forgiven her latest Southwell run having been left poorly placed. Fallen back down to last winning mark ahead of this.
Amarachi (IRE)
Responded well to fitting of cheekpieces when registering wide-margin success at Bath (1m) in September and continued in good heart, with runner-up efforts at Wolverhampton/Bath. No reason why she won't go well again in this groove.
Showtown (IRE)
Maiden who bounced back to form when second at Thirsk (7f) 2 starts back and confirmed his return to form when fourth at Ayr (7f, heavy) 2 weeks ago. Remains unexposed on all-weather and one to bear in mind from this sort of mark.
Boubyan (IRE)
Course winner who tends to need things to fall just right and has been operating below best in recent starts, in trouble before the longer trip became an issue when fifth of 6 at Wolverhampton (1½m) 2 weeks ago. Quickly reverts back to a shorter trip but others make greater appeal at present.
Eve's Boy
Still looking for a first handicap success but was runner-up at Thirsk in April. Hasn't kicked on since, racing too freely in first-time blinkers (discarded) when sixth behind Whiskey Pete a C&D handicap 11 days ago. Eased further 2 lb ahead of this.
Cusack
A regular here, successful 3 times again early in 2025. Finished nearer last than first all 3 starts this year, however.
Alkumatic Jo Jo (IRE)
Remains a maiden but ran one of her better races when fifth of 10 in a C&D handicap 11 days ago, albeit not aiding her cause with a slow start. Assessor relinquishes grip a little more and she's an each-way player in an open-looking handicap.
Sogniamo
Has struggled since winning a Hamilton novice (80/1) on stable debut/ reappearance in May, going with little encouragement when sixth of 11 in handicap (40/1) at this course (12.4f) 11 days ago. Blinkers replace cheekpieces back at this markedly shorter trip.
Whiskey Pete (IRE)
Best effort on turf this season when runner-up at Doncaster (1¼m) in August and posted easily his best effort since when ending a lengthy losing run in a first-time visor over C&D 11 days ago. A repeat gives him sound claims following a 6 lb rise.
Ice Show
Ulysses filly who improved plenty following an 8-week absence when opening her account over 7f here 10 days ago, the drop back in trip allied by a strong pace possibly key. In excellent hands and she appeals as the type to build on that.
Rugby Union (USA)
Low-mileage sort who did well under the circumstances when opening his account over (1¼m) here 2 starts back. Too keen when well held seventh over same C&D since but a stronger pace could help in that regard now tackling this trip for the first time.
