An open race can go the way of CRIMINAL SHORE who is well treated at present. Abduction is another running from a handy mark but may have to settle for second, ahead of Havana Rum who is trying this trip for the first time.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Spartan Fighter traded at a low of 1.01 and Betfair SP of 21.44 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Havana Rum (IRE)
Ran one of this season's better races when second at Pontefract (6f) in August and not disgraced both outings since. Has now fallen below last winning mark and tries 7f for the first time.
Flowstate (IRE)
Had a productive winter, winning 4 times over C&D. Too free with the refitted visor when sixth of 11 over C&D (15/2) 17 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter.
Belgrave
Fairly useful heavy ground winner at 2 yrs who has been below that level during this season. Can only be watched on stable debut on the back of a breathing operation.
Abduction (FR)
Dual winner at 7f this season, most recently at Musselburgh in April. Largely had a good season on the whole but was below form at Ayr last time. Returns to all-weather from 2 lb below last winning mark and is one for the shortlist.
Regalian
C&D winner on debut when with William Haggas but hasn't gone on this campaign since joining this yard and his mark has fallen as a result. Well backed on last 2 starts but others are more persuasive.
Atmosphere
Enthusiastic sort who was successful 3 times during 2025 and was knocking on the door with back-to-back seconds at Kempton in the spring. Failed to sparkle in soft conditions last time and should do better back on all-weather.
Black Storm (IRE)
Free-going sort who was suited by a well-run race when scoring over 7f at Catterick in August. Wasn't in anything like the same form both starts since.
Criminal Shore (IRE)
Infrequent winner but did score here over 1m in June. Can have his last run over C&D excused 17 days ago when badly hampered. Enters calculations from a handy mark.
Intrusively
Sixteen runs since opening his account in 2024. Struggled for form this season and continues to fall in the weights.
Not Me
Won over longer trip at Chester (first start since leaving Ivan Furtado) in June before solid fourth at Hamilton following month. Hasn't gone on since, the cheekpieces not working out last time. Needs to bounce back.
Runninsonofagun (IRE)
Front runner who has scored twice this season, latest at Musselburgh in August. Unsuited by softer conditions of late and may do better back on the all-weather from last winning mark.
Spartan Fighter
Has rolled back the years, winning 5 times here this season, latest over C&D last month when sent off 80/1. Beaten just a short head again over C&D 10 days ago. Has had another small rise in the weights and no reason to think he won't give his running again.
Honved
Regressed since finishing runner-up at Wolverhampton on debut. Little show on both starts for this yard since returning last month. Cheekpieces go back on but very hard to make a case for.
