PIPERSTOWN was in great form on the all-weather earlier in the season and may prove the answer returning in this low-grade handicap. It would be no surprise to see Why Because bouncing back with the hood back on, while Phoenix Beach is on an attractive mark if on a going day again.

Has fallen a long way in the weights and turned in his best effort of the season when second at Ayr last month in first-time visor. Hasn't repeated that in 2 starts since, though.
Piperstown (IRE)
All-weather regular who produced a career best when gaining a third success of the season at Southwell in April. Wasn't seen to best effect on the turf at Thirsk when last seen later that month. Has to be taken seriously if fully tuned up on return.
Woolridge
Maiden who took a step back in the right direction when fourth at Yarmouth in August. Failed to back that up at Southwell last time and easy to look elsewhere.
Why Because (IRE)
Took a step back in the right direction when fourth of 11 in selling handicap at Thirsk in September but responded negatively to the discarding of the hood over 7f at this course last time. Can get back on track with the refitting of headgear.
Mount Ruapehu (IRE)
Won 3 times on all-weather early in 2026. Not so good back on turf since and has fallen back down the weights as a result. Cheekpieces go back on and market may be best guide.
Edmond Halley (IRE)
Well supported but let his supporters down when only third of 7 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, soft, 10/11) 21 days ago. Makes tapeta debut with the hood readded.
Reenie's Dream
Capitalised on a career-low mark to finally get off the mark in 12-runner handicap over C&D 17 days ago. Quirky sort who now has to back that up.
Stormy Pearl
Thirteen runs since last win in 2025. Below form eleventh of 16 in handicap at Redcar (6f, good, 15/2) 33 days ago. Blinkers go on for the first time but has to prove as effective on the all-weather.
Yaahobby (IRE)
Stepped up markedly on recent run to end a long losing streak in 9-runner handicap over C&D last month. Backed that up when third again over C&D 6 days later. Not totally discounted in current form.
Phoenix Beach (IRE)
Twenty one runs since last win in 2025 and stopped the slide from a tumbling mark when in the frame on last 2 starts, though didn't look the easiest of rides at Wolverhampton on latest outing. Should be thereabouts.
Ziva's Star
Long-standing maiden who returned to form when third of 8 in handicap at Pontefract (5f, good) 18 days ago. Tongue strap now added.
Korroor (IRE)
C&D winner twice last season for Julie Camacho. Never figured on first start for this yard over 5f at this course 23 days ago. Must improve.
Spear Fir
Fair maiden at best in 2022. Lightly raced since and can only be watched returning from a 2-year absence.
