Timeform View

STATUS SYMBOL went off a big price but shaped with plenty of promise on debut and gets the verdict to come out on top second time out. Quintillion showed much improved form last time and rates an obvious danger with further progress likely, with Deira Moon also entitled to be in the mix again.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

This could develop into a sprint for home, and Able Tasman could be well placed to capitalise: Of the better-fancied horses, Deira Moon is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Able Tasman (IRE)
Third in a Lingfield maiden on debut in May which worked out well and stepped up to win 12-runner similar event at Bath (1m, good to firm, 10/3) last month by 1¾ lengths from Deira Moon, suited by increase in trip. Goes up an extra 2f and he's capable of better, though has to shoulder a penalty.
Gilder Roy
Cracksman colt. Looked in need of more time when seventh of 8 in novice (33/1) at Kempton (1m) on debut in August. Others preferred.
Good Job
Foaled March 31. 20,000 gns foal, 60,000 gns yearling, Sixties Icon colt. Half-brother to smart winner up to 9f Opal Tiara, won Balanchine/Lanwades Stud Stakes. Dam unraced. Makes appeal on paper but may need more time.
Lauriger (FR)
Twice-raced Galiway colt. 25/1, seventh of 8 in maiden at Goodwood (1¼m, good to firm) 19 days ago. Needs this run for a mark.
Quintillion
Showed much more second time up when length behind Wykehurst Park in maiden (25/1) at this course (9f, good) 25 days ago, suited by step up in trip. Likely to progress further with the extra distance promising to suit.
Deira Moon (IRE)
Thrice-raced maiden who's found only one too good on last 2 starts, latest when 1¼ lengths behind Please Don't Go in 8-runner maiden at Goodwood (1¼m, good to firm) 19 days ago. Should be in the mix again.
Kiril
Behind in 2 races at Kempton. Now visored for the first time and will make more appeal in handicaps.
Status Symbol
45,000 gns foal, Space Blues colt. Shaped well when 3¾ lengths fourth of 9 to Donegan in novice (50/1) at Kempton (1m) on debut 19 days ago, rallying late on. Looked as if in need of a stiffer test of stamina and is sure to improve on that initial outing.
Sa Llagosta
27,000 gns yearling, Saxon Warrior filly. 10/1, green when last of 9 in maiden at Leicester (1m, good to firm) on debut 6 days ago. More needed turned out again quickly.
Spong Hill (IRE)
Foaled March 2. €30,000 yearling, Saxon Warrior filly. Half-sister to 9f-1½m winner Golden Vale. Dam, French 15f winner, sister to smart 1m-12.4f winner Tashaar out of useful 9.7f winner Three Moons. Market best guide.
