Timeform View

DARKEST RED is a reliable sort and a 3 lb rise might not be enough to stop him from following up his Brighton victory 2 weeks ago. Atalanta Mist would have won if not seemingly being spooked late on at Ffos Las last time and has to be on the shortlist, with Jack Langley also arriving here in good heart.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Atalanta Mist traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 25% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Five Moons traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Dust Cover
All 3 wins on all-weather, including twice over 11f at Southwell. Has shaped as if back in form there on recent starts, posting a creditable fifth of 7 in handicap over this trip on Saturday. No forlorn hope back on turf.
Jack Langley
Successful on the turf at Lingfield (13f) in June on second start for current yard. Has continued in good nick, short of room as the race started to develop when third of 5 in handicap at Wolverhampton (16.5f) 21 days ago. Can go well again.
Big Win (FR)
Low-mileage sort who built on promise of seasonal/stable debut effort to open his account in 9-runner handicap at Chepstow (1½m, soft) in June. Ran creditably having been upped 5 lb to this mark when fourth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) next time. Off 107 days since.
Feelin' Free
Off the mark at third attempt when landing 4-runner novice over 11f at Ripon in August. Might've been amiss when seventh of 9 in handicap at Ffos Las (1¾m, soft, 9/1) 21 days ago, so probably best watched now.
Much
Took a notable step forward when 1½ lengths second of 7 at Wolverhampton (1½m) in July. Possibly found race coming too soon when below that form at Musselburgh a week later and didn't really see his race out when only fifth of 7 in handicap at Southwell (1½m, 6/4) 39 days ago.
Trapper John
Produced a career-best on the Flat when a fast-finishing second at Kempton (2m) in February. Unseated early over hurdles at Chepstow when last seen in May and he'd hold claims on his latest effort in this sphere if ready after 171 days off.
Betelgeuse (IRE)
Beaten only narrowly at Newmarket in June but arrives after back-to-back poor efforts and a first-time tongue strap will need to revitalise him.
Expressionless
Slow starter who arrives after 4 consecutive below-par efforts and he'll need the application of a first-time visor to work the oracle.
Darkest Red
Plenty of good efforts in defeat prior to gaining a deserved first success in a 7-runner handicap at Brighton (1½m, good) 14 days ago, kept up to work. Seemed to have a little bit in hand there and he can go well again after a 3 lb rise.
Sullom Voe (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden who was sent off big odds and finished well beaten on both handicap starts so far.
Five Moons (IRE)
Shaped with some promise in maidens but failed to improve switched to handicaps last 3 starts. Makes turf debut after 77 days off and sports first-time cheekpieces.
Atalanta Mist
Has taken her form up a notch in handicaps this season and she should've opened her account when second of 10 in handicap (9/4) at Ffos Las (1½m, good) 52 days ago, in control when seemingly spooked and jinking violently right late. Can go well again in first-time cheekpieces.
Fletcher
Belatedly off the mark when landing 6-runner minor event over 11.5f in July but that was a weak race and he was down the field reverted to handicap company at Epsom last month.
