Timeform View

METHGAL has been in fine form since joining Dylan Cunha from Ireland and makes most appeal. Veteran Good Earth is also considered after his recent Sandown win, whilst Ribenska was a shade better than the result at Windsor last time and looks on a handy mark.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Methgal traded at a low of 1.38 and Betfair SP of 1.49 when losing last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

So Sassy (IRE)
Completed a double in handicaps when scoring over 7f on all-weather at Wolverhampton in July and August. Seemed unsuited by softer conditions back on turf at Chester last time and now sports cheekpieces.
Deluded (IRE)
Wolverhampton maiden winner last autumn who ran one of this season's better races in first-time cheekpieces when fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good, 8/1) 26 days ago. Others still appeal as likelier winners.
Good Earth (IRE)
Veteran who was a 3-time 6f winner early this year and having slipped back to previous winning mark, added another success to his tally when taking a 10-runner handicap at Sandown (5f, good to soft) 26 days ago. Cheekpieces worn there retained and he's a player from 5 lb higher.
Raffles Angel
Strong-traveller who returned to her best to a win a 12-runner handicap at this C&D (good) 26 days ago. 3 lb rise looks manageable and she's not ruled out.
First Folio
Three-time C&D winner but he's on a losing sequence and hasn't really given any obvious indication that he's likely to take advantage, only seventh of 10 in handicap (11/1) at Newmarket (6f, good) 58 days ago. Visor back on.
Kimbara
Yet to score but he shaped well when placed over 7f on turf in his first 2 handicaps. Hasn't looked the easiest of rides since, so possible a gelding operation/first-time cheekpieces will help to calm him down.
Ribenska (IRE)
Made the frame twice from 5 starts this year, rather promising more than she delivered after racing up with a sound pace when sixth of 12 in handicap (11/1) at Windsor (1m, good) 28 days ago. Not one to write off from an easing mark.
Splash
Bounced back to form with breakthrough win in 5-runner maiden here (7f) in July but hasn't been able to land much of a blow in handicaps in 2 starts since. Something to find on form.
Methgal (IRE)
Ex-Irish gelding found improvement when winning for the second time for this yard in a 11-runner handicap at Kempton (6f) last month. Couldn't get clear in the straight when runner-up at Wolverhampton 6 days later and he makes plenty of appeal again.
Izzy Fast
Lightly-raced filly who was a surprise winner of a C&D maiden in April. Produced her best effort since when runner-up in 7f handicap here in July but failed to repeat that effort the following week.
Startled Lady
C&D winner in July (formed work out well) who produced another good effort at C&D when ½-length third of 12 to Raffles Angel (good, 17/2) 26 days ago. Solid claims again.
Frantic
Runner-up on 3 of her first 4 starts but disappointing at short odds on her last 2 handicap outings and was no match for less exposed rivals when third of 4 in novice (11/2) at Lingfield (6f, all-weather) 41 days ago.
Dark Side Thunder
In-and-out this season but he was runner-up at C&D in July. Not seen to best effect (hampered 100 yds out) after a 9-week break when tenth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good) 26 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and he's not discounted if on a going day.
