Timeform View

BLUE TOPAZ sets the standard on her third at Sedgefield last month and remains low mileage. She can take the opener. Miss Denver looks the obvious danger.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Blue Topaz traded at a low of 21.00 and Betfair SP of 75.00 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Blue Topaz
Point winner who was successful on second outing in bumpers at Sedgefield last season and showed first form over obstacles when third of 7 in novice hurdle (50/1) at same course 29 days ago. Leading claims.
Miss Denver
Proved consistent over fences this summer, latest when creditable second of 5 in handicap chase at Newton Abbot (2m, good) 36 days ago, albeit no match for winner. Posted good third at same course when last seen in this sphere and looks sure to go well here.
Upton Fern
Is bred more for stamina than speed and shaped in kind in a couple of bumpers this summer. Likely best watched on hurdles debut.
Vajra (IRE)
Kalanisi mare. Dam 2m-2½m hurdle/chase winner, also 1¼m-2m winner on Flat. Market should prove best guide to claims on NH debut.
Esther Spring (FR)
Showed more than on hurdles debut when last of 5 in novice at Huntingdon (2½m, good to firm, 80/1) 7 days ago. Drop back in trip is not ideal, though.
