Timeform View

WINSTON'S OATH has upped his game since the visor went on, building on a good second when opening his account in clear-cut fashion back at Fontwell 10 days ago. He appeals as the type to go on improving for his excellent yard and can follow up under Sean Bowen. Dante's Inferno, who is feasibly treated on his penultimate Market Rasen second, and the consistent Ballylicky Bay are others to consider.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Winston's Oath traded at a high of 12.00 and Betfair SP of 3.10 when winning last time, a race in which it raced prominently and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Pippin's Legend
Showed promise in a Huntingdon bumper and offered something to work on when third of 6 in juvenile at Haydock on hurdle debut in December. Well below that level next 2 starts but switches to handicaps on return with a tongue strap refitted and the betting could point the way.
Golden Garden (USA)
Fair winning handicapper on Flat (stays 1¾m) for Jamie Osborne. Has yet to match that level over hurdles for present yard, losing ground after 3 out when fifth on qualifying run at Plumpton (21f) last month. Visor replaces cheekpieces on handicap bow.
Bluey Bay
Modest fifth in 2 bumpers and well held on first 2 starts over hurdles during second half of last season. Resumed with a fourth-place finish on qualifying run at Worcester 33 days ago (appeared to suffer tack problem) but possible he could do better now handicapping returned to a longer trip.
Eyeeye
Long-standing maiden under both codes who has finished well held both starts over hurdles for present yard. Had breathing operation ahead of this and hard to warm to over a trip he isn't certain to stay.
Ballylicky Bay (IRE)
Successful on sole outing in bumpers and in good form over hurdles this season, returning from 3 months off with a respectable third at Warwick (19f) 3 weeks ago. No surprise to see her give another good account.
Winston's Oath (IRE)
Hadn't shown much on the Flat for this yard but upped his game since the visor went on, taking another step forward when running out a dominant winner at Fontwell (19f) 10 days ago, that despite a late blunder. Every chance he can do better still and big shout again under Sean Bowen.
Nala The Lioness
Modest winner on the Flat. Not kicked on from the minor promise of her hurdles debut third in 2 subsequent runs in maiden/novice company but now has handicaps to explore over a longer trip, so interesting if the market vibes prove positive.
Am Still Here (IRE)
Maiden who finished runner-up 6 times over hurdles/fences in 2025. Disappointed on final start for Nicky Richards last autumn but feasible to think he'll strip fitter for last month's reappearance/yard debut fifth over hurdles at Perth. Possibilities provided he jumps better.
Dante's Inferno
Posted career best in first-time cheekpieces when very good second at Market Rasen in September and looked set for minor honours again before unseating (saddle slipped before home turn) at Hexham (2½m) 11 days ago. Worth considering off revised mark turned out quickly.
Dusky Spyglass
Telescope mare who hasn't done much in a light career and she went with no promise returning from 6 months off when a well-beaten fifth of 7 in mares handicap at Sedgefield (2½m, good) 5 weeks ago. Much more required.
Anxious Moments (IRE)
Showed little in 3 quick qualifying runs in the spring and having proved easy to back, offered little sent handicapping after 4 months off at Plumpton (21f) 23 days ago. Still early days but would need to see more positive signs before becoming of interest.
Celine Man (IRE)
Little show in 2 runs for Henrietta Knight in 2024 and, following a breathing operation, it was a similar story in 2 starts for current yard earlier this year. 2 lb out of the handicap now returning from 7 months off.
